Villa Venandi

Eat Italian food and hang out in the bar at Villa Venandi at Hornsgatan 104, which opened at the end of 2022. Fadde Darwich, previously head of security at Spy Bar nightclub, runs this warm, welcoming restaurant.

After 33 years as a bouncer, Fadde Darwich switched roles to become a restaurateur and opened Villa Venandi in Zinkensdamm in Södermalm. The original plan was to create a fine-dining restaurant with slightly more expensive dishes on the menu, but the emphasis changed to homecooking-style Italian food and more reasonable prices, to suit local demand. The menu includes antipasti, salads, main courses, pasta and desserts with classic Italian flavours, but you can also get comfy in one of the leather sofas in the bar and enjoy a cocktail or two.

Fadde Darwich designed Villa Venandi's welcoming interior with inspiration from the surrounding Södermalm area and created a bar filled with the kind of design you'd want to have in your own home. Rustic wooden tables, grey/blue wooden panelling, patterned wallpaper, plants and a comfortable bar with sofas, armchairs, an open fire and muted lighting set the tone. Come by to enjoy a big, Italian-style dinner, or just hang out in the bar and make yourself at home.
