E&G, an abbreviation of Egon & Gösen (the owners' nicknames), is an intimate little restaurant tucked away on Birger Jarlsgatan on the border wth Siberien. Delicious food and wines, with an emphasis on German wines, are the order of the day here.
Whether you're a fully-fledged food and wine lover or just enjoying life, a visit to E&G may well be in order. The restaurant is as passionate about cooking as it is about the wine list. Come here to eat rustic dishes with mostly European flavours and sip a glass of wine, mainly imported from Germany. The menu changes regularly and consists of food cooked with the best ingredients in season, including in the form of snacks and side dishes but also slightly larger hot dishes for vegetarians and carnivores alike.
Just like the food, the premises are also characterised by a rustic feel, with black-painted brick walls, charming wooden floors, a fireplace and pared-back furniture. An entire wall acts as a wine shelf, filled from floor to ceiling with wine bottles. As for the wine list, it's dominated by Europe in general and Germany in particular, with a lot of self-imported gems on both the red and white side - all at reasonable prices.
