Hilma Stockholm

This sociable meeting place, complete with bar, restaurant, karaoke room and its own tattoo studio, is part of the design hostel Generator close to Norra Bantorget. The interiors are influenced by abstract art and the menu is based on seasonal bistro food. Keep an eye out for various events and DJ performances.

There are Generator branches all over Europe and the Stockholm establishment opened in spring 2016. Their bar and restaurant concept Hilma is for international guests and Stockholmers who want to hang out and have something to eat and drink. They serve bistro food, along with cocktails, beer and wine. There are regular DJ sets and other events so keep an eye on their socials. 

The restaurant's art references and unique design make for a creative environment. The interiors and name are inspired by Swedish artist Hilma af Klint, one of the pioneers of the abstract art movement in the late 19th and early 20th century. The premises are lit up with artistic light installations and a large cage functions as the restaurant's chambre separée. During the summer months, post-work drinkers gather on the outdoor dining area, with its pop-up outdoor bar. 

As well as coming here to sleep, eat and hang out, you can also get a tattoo at Generator. A former bank vault next to the restaurant has been transformed into a tattoo studio.
