When we arrived we tried to get a table both indoors and outdoors at their restaurant but everything was full. Fortunately the staff directed us to the bar in the cellar, where you can also order the entire restaurant menu if you ask for it, which in hindsight turned out perfect. The outdoor seating had been a bit too cold that evening while the noise level in the dining room was very high and the tables were close together. In the bar area there were plenty of regular dining tables when we arrived at 6:30 PM, though it filled up properly later in the evening.

We tried several of the restaurant’s classics. The meatballs, which are not on the regular menu, were really good. Beef Stroganoff held a high standard and the bread service was a nice touch from the start. The absolute highlight of the evening was without a doubt the raw carrot cake, the best I have ever eaten in my life. The only disappointment was the raw beef, which didn’t quite reach the same level as the other dishes.

Restaurang Tranans bardel. Extremt anonym entré från Odengatan. Mörk men ändå mysig, avspänd bar en trappa ned. Pga få som hittar hit är det oftast ganska lugnt med folk här, trots mitt på Odenplan.
