Artisanal baking is the order of the day at this historic bakery, and it has been for more than a hundred years. At this branch of Thelins on Kungsgatan guests can drop by for a traditional Swedish fika, to eat lunch or to buy buns and bread to take home with you. Everything is baked locally using natural ingredients at their bakery in Gröndal.
Time and heat are the key factors at Thelins. Time to allow bread to develop delicious flavours and heat for a perfectly crisp crust. Since they opened more than a hundred years ago they've maintained their core concept - being a traditional artisanal konditori selling everything from classic loaves, gateaux and Swedish cookies to modern pastries, pralines and croissants. There's often a warm, busy atmosphere here, with guests of all ages meeting up over a cup of coffee.
The wide selection has something for everyone. They serve breakfast, lunch, hot food such as Swedish homecooking classics and grilled sandwiches, and all kinds of cakes and pastries. The range is often updated and varies according to the seasons, but the classics remain. You don't need to choose between coffee and a glass of wine here either - the café is licensed and has a small but well chosen wine list.
Thelins carefully and proudly maintain their long heritage, but they also welcome modern additions and get inspiration from all over the world. The premises has a classic konditori feel with natural materials, café chairs, warm lighting and a long counter filled with sandwiches, cakes and pastries for all occasions.

Finns mycket att gilla med Thelins Kungsgatan! Först och främst är lokalen STOR och det finns även några mindre, avskilda rum/avdelningar om man vill vara ifred eller ha det lite lugnare. Trevlig uteservering i bistrostil också.
Utbudet består till stor del av klassiska bakelser och fika, jag åt deras omtalade prinsesstårteglass och den var god men inte mycket mer än så. Har för mig att de har goda kanelbullar också.
Trevligt ställe som vinner mycket på lokalen, adressen och de generösa öppettiderna, men som absolut kan sitt fika! Riktigt najs att de har gelato på sommaren också!
