My room, on the third floor, with its own balcony and views of the hotel’s old building (which also houses Restaurant J and the hotel’s breakfast room), became like a home during my stay.
Personally, I’m not overfond of the New England aesthetic, but the room and the hotel as a whole were incredibly fresh. Everywhere you can see the hotel’s great care for the guest, in everything from the plush cushions to the glossy magazines and the luxurious products in the bathroom.
The only thing that keeps my rating from being a perfect score is the breakfast buffet. There was most of what one could wish for, but unfortunately I didn’t feel it was top class, which is expected when the rest of the hotel maintains such a high standard. Perhaps the condition of the buffet is due to the high occupancy, but I would have liked a bit more focus on clearing and resetting tables and tidying up general mess.
Still, overall a very pleasant hotel. Don’t miss the lobby’s pleasant restaurant with simpler dishes and excellent service. Very friendly reception.
