Barobao is a restaurant and bar on Hornsgatan 66, Södermalm in Stockholm.

Been here 2 times. Totally ok bao, slightly overpriced! Think they should spend time setting the flavors and dare to add a little heat to the dishes. Tried okonomiyaki which didn't really taste that much either. However, go staff. You can do better!
Sometimes you just get a craving for bao and then this is a good option. Quite simply decorated and stripped down, but still nice vibe and good things to choose from on the menu. There are a couple of kinds of bao to choose from on the menu and I thought they were all good. But I almost thought the side dishes/accessories were even better.

Had quite high expectations when I wanted to go here for a couple of years but was unfortunately disappointed. Quite ok room, nice staff but the food was no more than mediocre. Had needed something crunchy in the bao, became too soft textures with soft bread and soft meat. Looking further for a good bao in Stockholm, seems hard to find!

A little hard to put this rating when the impressions are very mixed. The first time I ate here was just a quickie before I'd eat real dinner at another restaurant. Took only a little bao (£ 56), porken, which was completely sick good. Unreal good, was almost that we booked the second table.
Went there again the following day and took this time two of the bao, plus the second. It was good, but a far cry from the day before. Don't really know what it depends on, myself or the baon. The first day I thought the price was a bit high given the baons size. The second day was the meat piece, but it became a bit oversized, which went out over the taste I think.
Saw some of the other dishes, small salmon-facilities, etc. They looked really good, but the prices are clearly too high against the size of the portions. You may count on approx 300 SEK for a dinner with a beer to be measured, which I think is too much of this sort of place where you order at the counter and leave after 45 min. Otherwise, I like the place (a plus for mobile recharging cabinets on the wall!) but think it might be a little excessive "hipsteraktigt".

Not at all so pjåkigt, actually very good but not quite a wow experience hence the four stars!
A stripped-down small restaurant with natural touches and Chinese menu, with twist. There Is A really nice staff who created a convivial feeling for dinner and be sure to inform about the structure, tastes and everything there to and recommended at least two dishes where we drove on.
Two buns, one with celeriac, mushrooms, truffles, shiitake mayo and roasted onion and the other with pork belly, pickled cucumber, peanuts and korriander, tartar with soyamarinerade beetroot, creamy egg yolk and classical frame had to stand for tonight's dinner, very neat and aroused our interest directly. The Porcelain they used for the dishes was also nice and created a "luxurious" whole. Fun menu, aesthetically stylish!
The Fluffy bread was divinely good, the pickled red beets at the top of the Råbiffen were sweet, a little crunchy and got married incredibly well with the rest of the ingredients, the sponge in one bunen with truffles and pork belly in the other was two components that we could have Eating as the VA and broth in the frame was rich and tasty. The Råbiffen, Njea... Not my favorite and rotsellerin quite tasteless, but was weighed up by the remaining ingredients so it did not so much.
92kr for the frame and Råbiffen and 60kr for a bun, completely överkommligt but one can be very saturated for 150kr on other foods. But A fun experience, can absolutely imagine going back when they replaced the menu and try more!

I have very mixed emotions for this review. For over two years I have wanted to eat here, so the expectations for these little Baosen were soaring.
I o my company ordered three different BAOs each, one with pork belly, one with cheek and one with fish and "crispy batten". We agreed that pork belly was tastes, but that doesn't mean it had "it". It was very tender, but on the other hand it contained the pork bitten 80% fat and 20% meat. I had desired more hoisin sauce, slightly sourer and crunchy gurkskiva and more intense taste in the flesh. It was missing the textures and the peculiar mix between sweet, salt and sour simply.
And the most important thing for BAOs is still the bread. I had hoped to get the resteamed and warm bread, but instead got bread that was cold. Were they steamed a few hours ago and kept themselves "hot" and fresh in a ångskåp?
The fish crispy Cheerio was tasteless and not at all crispy, but it felt rather like they fried a replacement in the morning and so it was it. However, the sauce was good and different.
The portions were relatively small and a little expensive. We were not really satisfied after three.
Barobao gets a weak third. A deuce had been unfair, for the room was protruding and the girl who helped us was nice. But the food didn't live up to the expectations and reviews that I read here.

Fresh and stripped-down room, light and pleasant with lots of plants hanging from the roof. A little everywhere. Have only eaten lunch here. You choose between Baos or Ricebowl (Veg el Fish) Good flavors but tiny portions and a little overpriced. But clearly the best Baon I have had in Stockholm

Dare to break the trend here and say that I was really impressed with this place. Really nice and cool Interior (check out the bathroom!!) and awesome food. We chose 3 different bao per person-everything was delicious and the right generous portions, not like earlier reviews suggest. Would go back there any day!

I love the buns which made a visit to the Baraobao was of course! The bread was perfect, incredibly tender meat which has both advantages and disadvantages. A bit too soft when both the bread and the filling does not have a larger structure. This time the staff was cruel nice but have unfortunately heard that treatment may vary. Slightly more expensive buns but a plus to bring their buns home!

Bao, this fluffy white bread with way too much sugar to be called healthy has stolen my heart and refuses to return it. From a sunken shopping centre in Kuala Lumpur to matbarens version, I have now landed on Hornsgatan and here I intend to stay. The bread is something that they take very seriously here and they constantly develop the recipe to get a bread that does not burst or get too messy. I wasn't here from the beginning, but now it's incredibly good. One of the owners tells us that they have still reduced the amount of sugar from the original recipe, more he does not want to say because it is their own secret recipe. I'm happy anyway, I get to enjoy.
Our entire Saturday was planned from outside to land on Hornsgatan just after 17.00 and once we came in we were starved, thirsty and a bit dirty after a day in the park. The room was almost empty but only 15 minutes later it was almost full. The room is simply decorated with expensive furniture and the chairs were at exactly my height. The husband thinks I should mention that "if you are 162cm then the chairs are made after you". The toilet is ball, no risk of sitting without paper if one says so.
We chose to bring in all three gua baos, one salmon and so kimchi. To the little one we took a bao with only pork and she munched on it and wanted another one. To that the beer Hornstull from Pang Pang and the luck was running. We ordered in more as time went on and I finally ate three baos, some kimchi and half a salmon, the husband the same. Here comes the issue of affordability as discussed in previous reviews. I can't agree at all. That my whole family was crammed with fantastic food, happy and well treated for under 700kr including beer, I do not consider to be expensive. I don't see it as a fast food place even if it's food that goes fast but as a taste explosion with really good ingredients.
Tastewise, I liked it best with pork even though both chicken and eggplant were nice in taste. If you haven't tried the salmon, do it, wow. Then we also got to taste the sky to the cod on the pickled carrot and I long already back when I can test the whole dish, now I was too full to both cope with it or the dessert. Imagine ice cream in bao with licorice, but hey mouth orgasm.
They will on the last weekend of each month offer about nine seats to a tasting dinner after closing, price unknown but these lucky souls will get three chefs and a taste trip I really want to be part of.
This was hardly the last time I was here, here I want to go every week and since the husband thinks the same, it will not be long until we sit there again and revel. The daughter was just as happy she was, it was even fun to refill the water glass.

Really appreciate the great enthusiasm and the Nice Asian flavors, on the other hand, think that the prices are too high (but of course, you get good ingredients and a hip concept, both taste and interior design, in terms of the bargain). Otherwise, it's definitely a place where I would like to pick up a meal on a regular basis.

Good food and nice little place. Good to know is that the portions are relatively small for those who are big eaters, personally I think it is perfect.
