Guide to Stockholm's best street food
Updated 14 Feb 2023
Tacos, noodles and Indian street food - street food has struck back and these days you're just as likely to find such dishes in restaurants as on street stalls and kiosks. Plenty of food trucks have parked up their vans and opened up restaurants on the back of their reputations for great cooking. The ingredients may be higher quality, the flavours improved and the ideas updated, but the techniques are the same. Here are the gems worth seeking out in the jungle of Stockholm's street food scene.
Le Kebab
Rosenlundsgatan 20, Södermalm
New kebab flavours
Get ready for a totally new kind of kebab! At Le Kebab the emphasis is on high-quality, organic ingredients with plenty of plant-based options and innovative, unexpected flavour combinations. This is not a classic kebab joint, so prepare your tastebuds for something new.
Le Kebab Vasastan
La Neta
Barnhusgatan 2, City/Vasastan/Norrmalm
Authentic Mexican
La Neta's aim is to serve genuine Mexican food, a world away from the pre-fab Tex-Mex the average Swede slings together on 'Taco Fridays'. This is the place to come for uncomplicated Mexican street food in an authentic taquería environment. You'll find Latin American classics such as tortillas, tacos and quesedillas with fillings such as slow-cooked beef chuck, beans, cheese and quacamole.

Cong
Kornhamnstorg 51, Old Town
Crispy Vietnamese
They're not afraid of flavour at Cong - just like in Vietnam. Choose from sandwiches, spring rolls, fresh salads, shellfish and tofu dishes. Perfect for sharing around the tables so everyone can enjoy the range of flavours and textures Vietnamese cuisine provides: acidic, spicy, sweet and crispy. Combine with a Singaporean Tiger beer and you'll be transported far from Stockholm - sensorially, at least.
Çok
Hornsbergs strand 53, KungsholmenPosh kebabs
Kebabs are hotter and fresher than ever. Çok serves ambitious döner kebabs according to a "fine fast food" philosophy, a combination of fine dining and fast food. Owner Mahmut Sucakci is an actor, known for his roles in the Snabba Cash (Easy Money) films, and he also runs Lily's Burger with fellow actor Joel Kinnaman.
