This long-standing, ever-popular restaurant at the heart of Bullandö Marina is open most of the year. The restaurant is large but during the summer months it's always packed with guests who come for the archipelago-inspired menu and inviting veranda.
This island restaurant is right on the waterfront with views over Bullandö Marina's busy boat life. In high season, from the beginning of May until the middle of September, they have a choice of two menus. One is updated daily while the "Classic Menu" is a constant. Food is classic Swedish with Mediterranean influences and menus include something to suit all tastes. The classic menu includes dishes such as cured fillet of salmon and Bullandö's fish and seafood stew. Meat lovers can choose between tenderloin of beef with bearnaise sauce and one of the meat options on the daily menu. If you're celebrating a special evening, why not try the seven-course tasting menu? Bear in mind that the tasting menu needs to be ordered in advance. There's also an unusually wide selection of dishes for kids on the special children's menu.
You can enjoy your food out on the large terrace surrounded by the sea and boat life, or indoors in the dining room, which is tastefully decorated in simple nautical style. Our personal favourite place to sit is on the veranda upstairs. From here, diners have the best possible view over the boats moored in the marina, the largest on the east coast. Awnings and parasols cover most of the veranda.
In addition to good food, Bullandö Krog also offers several other services. They can arrange all kinds of events, from conferences and weddings to summer parties and christenings. If you're celebrating somewhere else you can also order catering from them. They can even arrange buffets for at least 20 people. As they put it themselves on their website, "there are few limits to what we can achieve..."
Live musical performances on the jetty take place from midsummer until schools start again in mid August. Usually on Wednesday and Saturday evenings, with genres ranging from jazz to rock and classic archipelago tunes. The atmosphere is lively and it's always packed. Bullandö Krog is situated right out at the far end of Värmdö island and you can get there by boat, car or bus. If you come by boat, you can moor in the guest marina.
