Kaijas Musiksalong

Storgatan 44 in Östermalm has been home to Kaijas Musiksalong since 1995, and the salon is now run by the third generation of the same family. As the name suggests, live music takes centre stage here - combined with food and drink.

Matriarch Kaija, who was born in Finland in 1946, was passionate about music and in 1995 she fulfilled her dream of opening a music salon. Famous and lesser-known artists performed while Kaija made sandwiches and served coffee in china cups on a silver tray. She took care of her guests and regulars surrounded by chandeliers, sconces and photographs on the walls. Her granddaughter Saga now runs the business in her grandmother's spirit - she's careful to preserve her heritage, but they now take contactless and Swish payments at the counter.

The music salon is now a wine bar with star French chef Louis Cespedes in the kitchen. Saga welcomes guests who want to experience music close-up with something delicious to eat and drink. The menu consists of European dishes which are ideal for sharing, such as spaghetti vongole, fried zucchini flowers and burrata salad. Drinks-wise you'll find selected wines and cocktails such as Aperol Spritz. Live music is performed on stage, with troubadours, solo artists and live bands.
