Undoubtedly it is the most affordable visit you can make in Stockholm. The food is incredibly good, the staff friendly and helpful, the venue cozy and all you want is for the evening to never end!

Finally I visited Lilla Ego, and with sky-high expectations. And I wasn't disappointed. We had booked the last seating in matbren and were seated at the best spots right in front of the kitchen door.

Of course we ate one dish too many, so unfortunately we didn’t have dessert - but wow how worth it it was. We shared three starters and two hot dishes and everything was divine! The starters were a tartlette with pork, rutabaga and chorizo which was my partner's favorite. My favorite was the chanterelles with carrot and lavender, which really tasted lavender in a delicate way. Or rather, we thought they were our favorites until the tuna with avocado, coconut and shiso came in - OMG so good. Truly incredible flavors.
For the main course we shared a char with jalapeños, asparagus and pickled potatoes. After that we ordered another main course - a beef tartare with Jerusalem artichoke, rhubarb and ponzu. These were also utterly amazing. The food here is truly world-class.

For this we had beer and champagne and enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere and the relaxed yet professional service.

We were close to giving this visit a 4, as it was very hot inside - crazy. The most disappointing was the staff, but of course that also affected us. Also that we received a somewhat vague welcome. Stämmer in i hyllningskören! Tredje gången jag är här med många års mellanrum, och det är precis lika gott och mysigt! Fantastisk service, de är hela tiden steget före och tar sig tid med alla trots att det är smäckfullt.
Löjromsserveringen för två är magisk, alltid lika roligt att klämma ut löjrom från en strut. Piggvaren var perfekt tillagad och alla smaker totalt balanserade. Vi avslutade med drömdesserten för två, nu med äpple som bas. Också supergod! Längtar redan tillbaka!

Uppdatering 7 juni 2025: går typ inte ens att sätta ord på den här upplevelsen. Helt galna smaker (på bästa tänkbara vis), går liksom inte att bli bättre! Vi satt i baren och delade på en förrätt + två varmrätter, allt vegetariskt och fantastiskt gott. Fick bra vinrekommendation till, servicen är precis lagom avslappnad men hjälpsam. 7 juli 2023: Oförglömligt! Äntligen, verkligen äntligen, blev det ett besök på Lilla Ego. Som inte bara levde upp till, utan överträffade förväntningarna.

Vi delade på två vegetariska huvudrätter, den ena med jordärtskocka och rabarber, den andra med friterat ägg, zucchini och brynt smör. Sangiovese till det + bröd med rivet smör och solrosfrön.
Allt var liksom orimligt gott? Hur kan mat smaka så perfekt, typ få en att känna såhär?? Till ett ytterst schysst pris också, med tanke på vad man får.

Uppskattar verkligen ett ställe som kan ha otrolig mat utan att vara för pretto. Åt havskräfta till förrätt följt av rådjurssadel och en chokladig efterrätt. Äntligen har jag lyckats få till ett besök på Lilla Ego! Låt dig inte avskräckas av den omöjliga bordsbokningen utan ställ dig i kö utanför strax innan det öppnar och hoppas på ett bord i baren.
