Nostrano Östermalm

Nostrano's second restaurant is housed in what used to be Tysta Mari, inside the historic Östermalms Saluhall food market. This Italian neighbourhood restaurant serves pasta and other Italian dishes upstairs and a wide range of wines and smaller dishes in the wine bar downstairs.

Nostrano has had a restaurant in Södermalm, on Timmermansgatan, for some time. But in 2022 they opened up a second branch, inside the newly-renovated Östermalmshallen. Spread over two floors, with both a restaurant and wine bar, this family-owned restaurant has plenty of space for guests who want to eat and drink well.

Restaurateur Nils Molinder (who also works with Ulriksdals Värdshus and Melanders) and Peppe Mazzella founded Nostrano - but it's now Nils' daughter, Sandra, and her partner Adam who actually run the restaurant.

The restaurant in Östermalms Saluhall is slightly more modern decor-wise than its Södermalm sister - in line with the rest of the food market which has recently undergone a total renovation - but just as cosy and welcoming. Choose to sit at one of the tables, or take a pew on one of the high barstoools. There are also places to sit on the balcony with views out over the market.

The menu, just as Nostrano in Södermalm, includes a selection of Italian small plates, pasta, traditional main courses and desserts. The flavours and inspiration are the same but dishes aren't exactly the same at the two restaurants, allowing you to visit them two days in a row and sample different dishes.
