Klas Lindberg took over his Sankt Eriksplan premises in July 2015 and began his Portal project. A year later he opened the doors to his new restaurant, which two years later was joined by its own bar, food studio and a chambre séparée. The common denominator for all these elements is uncomplicated gastronomy and drinks.
Portal's culinary concept is “uncomplicated”. The emphasis is on clear flavours and the best quality ingredients, paired with and heightened by great drinks to offer a unified gastronomic experience. Ingredients take centre stage, whether its vegetables, fish or meat. Everything is carefully selected for a seasonal, constantly changing menu consisting of dishes with both Scandinavian and southern European influences. As well as the à la carte menu you can choose from the daily specials written up on the blackboard.
Chef restaurateur Klas Lindberg has won awards including Chef of the Year and, together with his team, the gold medal in the Culinary Olympics. Portal is his first restaurant; he has previously worked at restaurants including PM & Vänner in Växjö and three Michelin-starred Arpège in Paris.
Portal Bar next door is the restaurant's naughty little sister. Portal also has a food studio where they develop their culinary skills but is also used for cookery courses, cocktail parties and private dinners with a personal chef. Up to 36 people can sit at the large table in their private chambre séparée section at the back of Portal Bar.
The restaurant is packed with light colours and well-considered Scandinavian interiors. During the summer months you can eat outside on Portal's large outdoor dining area on the square outside.
Firade mannens födelsedag här under sommaren och blev helt blown away! Vi började middagen med lite snacks, ostron å drinkar. Redan här blev vi glatt överraskade av säsongens smaker, rabarberdrinken var som en hel sommardag! Sen kom varmrätterna in, och omg, nåt av det godaste jag ätit på länge i Stockholm. Rödingen var helt otrolig, och likaså schnitzeln som mannen åt. Vi avslutade kvällen med varsin dessert och gick hem i sommarkvällen mycket nöjda och mätta! Hit kommer vi fler gånger 💕
