Restaurant AG is the award-winning meat restaurant located upstairs in an old workshop on Kungsholmen. The dining room serves AG's famous meat dishes and hamburgers, and the adjoining bar is a buzzy place to meet up over snacks, selected dishes and a cocktail after work.
Behind the slightly tucked away entrance on Kronobergsgatan, you'll find white-tiled walls, raw stone floors, light fixtures and specially designed furniture in light wood and brown leather. The interior design by Jonas Bohlin combines a bistro feel with AG's characteristic industrial surroundings, and the well-stocked meat refrigerator in the entrance says a lot about the restaurant's concept. The focus here is on tender, top quality meat, with porterhouse and entrecôte on the menu, among other things. Southern European starters (which can be shared around the table) and various seasonal main courses are served alongside serious cuts of meat. The idea here is to be able to socialise over uncomplicated food prepared with top quality ingredients.
Next to the dining room is AG Bar, a relaxed meeting place where you can spend the whole evening or just have a snack before dinner. The menu includes a selection of the restaurant's dishes as well as beer, wine and cocktails. If you're a fan of AG's popular hamburger, you can also order this here.
If you prefer a private dining experience, the restaurant also has a chambre séparée where you can get an exclusive demonstration of their gastronomy.
Edit June 2023: Still one of my absolute favorites. I go here at least once a year. An underrated tip is to try the "nut back" in the bar. Like 100g of meat, for 110 SEK, and it's fucking not far from the crowbar (which I think costs 1500 SEK per 100g). If I have to say something negative, I can think you are always fooled by the wagyu slides. Looks incredible on the menu, but always gets a little "meh".
Their chef's table should be experienced by everyone at least once. Here you sit inside by the kitchen, up to 8 people. You can control the music yourself and mess up as much as you want in principle. The menu is a treat of around 6 dishes. Costs a lot, but it's worth it!
Original review 2014: Usually keeps AG as my absolute favorite restaurant in Stockholm. Sometimes some temporary star sails up to the top (my last visit to Griffins was absolutely amazing for example), but AG always comes back as the favorite. I've been here almost 10 times, and not once have I been disappointed. Not with ONE SINGLE dish. And then expectations are always high.
Usually I eat the entrecote on bones for two people, but lately I've broadened my horizons a bit. Last time I tried the Scottish one, which I almost have to say was the best so far. Have also tried the Polish, waguy, and their "grand cru". For starters you have to try the burratta mozzarella (split it though as it is huge, and add bacon or their awesome carpaccio)
NIce environment, good bar, always top class treatment. This is one of the world's coolest restaurants.

Nice place but unfortunately still a little disappointed. We ordered three different pieces of meat that we shared at the table, one premium and two "regular" as well as some starters and side dishes. I don't think it really flew, neither the side dishes nor the pieces of meat. Couldn...

MMM, meat meat meat-I bloody love it!
Restaurant AG is one of my favorites in the city of Stockholm. Here there is always really great food and outstanding meat. Do not want to repeat all that has been said by earlier writers, but suffice to say: go here if you like meat, you will not be d...
