The starting shot for Restaurang Oxenstiernan was fired when silversmith and jeweller Sebastian Schildt got wind of an 18th-century building in Östermalm. After a couple of years of working at the intersection of art, design, craftsmanship and the culinary arts, the restaurant closed for a while, only to reopen in the summer of 2025 in a new, three-part format. The concept includes Jardin, a relaxed garden restaurant with a focus on flavours from Provence. From autumn 2025, it will also include a luxurious bistro focused on well-loved classics and fine Nordic ingredients, and from winter 2025, an intimate dining room will serve modern fine dining with a focus on the personal, creative and Nordic.
