I had La Vecchia Signora on my wishlist of places to go for at least eight years, but the visit never happened. Instead, I ended up at Tripletta at the same address and I was pleasantly surprised, despite having quite high expectations.
The venue is cozy and nicely decorated, the staff is friendly, and the food is really good in its simplicity. I tried two primi (bruschetta with mushrooms and taleggio, and halibut carpaccio with fennel and orange) and two pasta dishes (puttanesca and a vegetarian one). All four dishes felt well-made and were really tasty.
An extra plus for the consistently stylish and playful graphic design – from the street sign to the drink coasters and sugar packets.
I apologize for the poor pictures, but I blame that on the cozy, albeit Instagram-unfriendly, lighting.
