Vört Gastro­bryggeri

Vört in the Old Town serves modern open sandwiches by star chef Melker Andersson – famous for restaurants such as Fredsgatan 12 – alongside beer from their own brewery. They call themselves a gastrobrewery, a gastronomic experience on the plate and in the glass. Naturally, everything is made and brewed on site.

Putting tasty toppings onto a slice of bread is pretty straightforward and definitely timeless - you might think. But doing it at home and having it prepared and served at a restaurant by a Michelin-starred chef isn't quite the same thing. Some chefs may regard traditional smörrebröd open sandwiches as basic and a bit boring, but at Vört they're taken to new heights. We're talking smörrebröd 2.0 here, with out-of-the-box thinking and innovative ingredients.

This gastrobrewery is on Lilla Nygatan, among the narrow streets and alleyways of Stockholm's Old Town. Vört aims to welcome their guests into a stylish and inviting living room, where food is made with real passion and joy.

Master brewer Hans Nyström works alongside Melker, brewing Vört's own beer from top-quality ingredients. Melker and Hans regard the best beer as being one which you want to return to, time after time. Classic, pure, timeless and brewed with cutting edge technology and craftsmanship with no short cuts or funny business.

As well as open sandwiches, Vört also serves lunch with a weekly-changing menu that includes dishes such as coq au vin and pyttipanna meat and potato hash.

You can also book their "Brewer's table" with room for twelve people in the middle of the brewery. Groups interested in beer can eat dinner here or join a guided brewery tour or beer tasting.
