Dockteatern Tittut
The Tittut puppet theatre has been around since 1977, making it the oldest theatre in Sweden for young children. With children at the centre of everything they do, they create engaging, colourful performances that spellbind everyone in the audience, both young and old.
When Tittut was founded more than 40 years ago lots of people thought it wasn't possible to have theatrical performances for children under five. But Tittut proved them wrong and the concept has been extremely popular. The puppet theatre has a long list of successful performances behind them, and numerous children have had their first theatrical experience at Tittut. In addition to theatrical performances, they also arrange seminars, courses, guests appearances and baby salons. Tittut aims to raise the status of children with their puppet theatre and to inspire and strengthen individuals.
The emphasis at Tittut is very much on children and giving them a fun, memorable and interactive first impression of the world of theatre. Performances are often based on what it means to be a human being, and children's reactions are welcomed. They welcome children from two years old, except on certain Fridays - known as Sibling Fridays - when even younger children are allowed to join their siblings.
Tittut Puppet Theatre creates engaging, creative performances that suit children's needs and curiosity. They combine puppetry with acting, shadow play and object theatre. Every year thousands of children get to experience the wonderful world of theatre thanks to Tittut, which puts on more than 700 shows per year. Around half of the shows are put on all around Sweden, and the other half performed on their stage on Lundagatan in Stockholm or their sister stage in Blå huset in Tensta.
