- Wine bar
What used to be Slow Hands Café is now a wine bar simply called Slow Hands. Since wine enthusiast Peter Bennyson, who previously ran the popular 19 Glas in the Old Town, took over the place, artisanal drinks in the form of exciting natural wines, craft ciders and coffee have been the order of the day here.
The venue in Hägerstensåsen may look a bit anonymous from the outside, but once inside, there's a homely living room feel with soft velvet furniture, wine bottles that act as candlesticks and colourful paintings with cows – Peter's favourite animal – as recurring motifs. The idea is that you should be able to drop in for a quick glass of wine or spend the whole evening, on your own or in good company.
Just like at the previous establishment in the Old Town, Slow Hands focuses entirely on natural wines, produced without toxins or artificial fertiliser. The wine list is extensive and their knowledge is also top notch; the team here is happy to help guests find new and perhaps slightly unexpected favourites. In addition to wine, they serve other artisanal drinks such as cider and top quality coffee. Food-wise, they offer snacks perfect for pairing with these kinds of drinks, such as cheese and charcuterie. The kind of food you can order several plates of to form a whole meal, or just to eat as a little snack while you sip a glass of wine or cider.
Slow Hands can also be booked for private events and dinners.
