Good value restaurants in Östermalm

This charming neighbourhood restaurant from the Bockholmen group of restaurants is housed in an old cinema building on Valhallavägen. Eat dinner, lunch or celebrate the weekend with a long, leisurely brunch. Old cinema seats and Art Deco decor reflect the building's history.

This slightly tucked away meze restaurant on Jungfrugatan draws much of its inspiration from Greece and Turkey. Both the decor and the menu evoke a Mediterranean feel. Bring the gang along and order hot and cold meze, small plates, to share around the table.

Their dough is left to rise for a full 72 hours before being topped with both classic and contemporary toppings and baked in an oven heated to several hundred degrees. The restaurant is run by Italian pizzaiolos who cherish tradition while embracing the new, which is reflected in the menu that features classics, seasonal pizzas, and fried variations as well as Italian wine, snacks, and desserts.

This popular French-inspired brasserie is part of Elverket, the Royal Dramatic Theatre's annex on Linnégatan. Elverket is known for its great atmosphere and bar scene, but their food also makes it worth a visit. They serve everything from oysters to burgers.

With its dark, homely interiors and classic French attitude, Cassi has retained its style since the Seventies and feels like a journey back in time, a real nostalgia trip for many of its regular guests. The menu includes a wide selection of dishes, at varying prices.
