There's been plenty of hype around Meat on a Stick since even before it opened - the guy behind M.O.A.S, Jiray Seropian, has an Instagram account called Kebabspotting with around 20 000 followers.

Kebab and falafel have their roots in the Middle East and they're firm favourites on the Stockholm fastfood scene. Both dishes can be endlessly varied with masses of different accompaniments and there's something for almost all tastes.

Fast doesn't need to mean sloppy. At Dirty Tacos they serve their tacos in stylish surroundings with wooden bentwood chairs and a calming colour palette. A visit to S2 is quick, tasty and easy. Well, apart from actually choosing which place to eat at. This modern food court gathers over a dozen restaurants under the same roof, with everything from burgers to sushi and rotisserie-grilled meat. With 650 seats, you don't have to worry about not getting a seat, and takeaway is always an option. From time to time, they also put on post-work events with DJs and live performances.

Hawaii Poké was one of the first poké restaurants in Stockholm and has since opened at several locations around the city. They serve fresh poké bowls prepared with selected ingredients, and available with your choice of protein. Perfect when you're craving a healthier fast food option.

This Södermalm institution has been serving up Turkish-inspired food to a loyal gang of regulars for more than ten years. The charcoal grill and fresh ingredients make Amida a true fastfood favourite. Take a seat or grab your food to go. They also do catering.

As the name suggests, The Fishery serves fish in all its forms - in salads, tacos, as burgers and stews. Paradise for fish-lovers, in other words. Their sister restaurant The Farm Family, which is in the same premises, focuses on substantial, innovative salads that pack a major flavour punch. Both restaurants are good value.

American superstore meets retro diner at this fastfood joint in Danderyd. Freshly-ground hamburgers made from chuck steak are served in cool industrial surroundings, along with classic and modern pizza options. There's even a "shake corner" with its own milkshake menu.

This on-trend healthfood joint is inside Östermalms Saluhall indoor food market. Choose from a simple yet healthy menu consisting of wraps, salads, juices and smoothies, with vitamin and mineral-packed ingredients. There are plenty of options for vegans, vegetarians and lactose-intolerant people.
