Where to find Stockholm restaurants open during the summer

Bleck in Lilla Blecktorns park in Skanstull has a sun-drenched terrace that's become a favourite summer spot. There's also a glassed-in dining area that's open all year round. Bleck serves lunch and dinner and everyone's welcome, even dogs.

Head out on a mini excursion (just a fifteen-minute ride by commuter boat) to the old Saltsjöqvarn, where SQ invites you to a continental dining experience with a view of the entrance to Stockholm harbour. Whether you're in the mood to go clubbing or not, Trädgården in Skanstull is always a good idea in the summer. Their vegetarian restaurant Växthuset serves crossover cuisine to share family-style, combined with gluten-free beers, biodynamic wines and other artisan drinks.

In the summer of 2023, the owners of the Fabrique café chain took over the old Oaxen restaurant, where they now serve lunch and dinner. Sit inside or outside on the beautiful terrace, overlooking the water.

This intimate hotel restaurant on Blasieholmen is open every day and it houses a secret upstairs summer terrace where lunch, dinner and summery cocktails are served al fresco every day. If you want a better vantage point for people-watching and glittering views over the water, choose the outdoor dining area next to the harbour instead.

In a converted workshop on the inner-city island of Skeppsholmen, Torpedverkstan serves up fresh flavours in maritime surroundings. The atmosphere is relaxed and its setting right on the waterfront is idyllic. The bar serves cocktails, bubbles and other drinks.

This Chinese restaurant in the MOOD Stockholm shopping arcade has a seasonal roof terrace, EAT Garden, where you can eat Chinese streetfood and sip cocktails in the heart of town. In chillier weather, there's a roofed area and heaters.

The Italian chain Basta has had a restaurant here since 2022, transporting you to Capri and the Italian coast with leafy trees and brightly patterned china. To get to Spesso you take the lift from Malmskillnadsgatan up to the rooftops, where there large roof terrace has plenty of space to eat and drink as the sun goes down. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet lively, and works equally well for a few cocktails as dinner in the restaurant.
