Restaurang Eld

Nordic flavours made with open fire, time and fermentation 

Next to Wasahamnen on Djurgården is Restaurang Eld, whose name (which means “fire”) says a lot about the focus of the kitchen. The menu is characterised by seasonal Nordic flavours, with elements from other European countries. There's also a large selection of drinks here, including mead.

Eld is part of The Viking Museum, but the restaurant is also intended to be a destination in itself, so you don't need a museum ticket to eat here. The dining room is decorated in muted colours with solid wooden beams and stone floors, which are lightened by a generous amount of light from the glass wall out to the water. Reflecting the restaurant's name, two wood stoves glow in the dining room. If you come here in the summer months, you can also take a seat on the outdoor terrace, just a few metres from the quayside.

The menu is based on the raw materials that Sweden's forests and waters have to offer at the moment, and the kitchen works in close harmony with nature, where fire, fermentation and time are the main tools. The flavours are primarily Nordic, but you'll also find elements from other parts of Europe on the plates. Both lunch and dinner are served in the form of starters, main courses, desserts, snacks and oysters in several different forms. The drinks list includes both classics such as wine, beer, drinks and avec, along with the house's own signature cocktails and different types of mead. Restaurang Eld can be rented out for private parties such as weddings, birthday celebrations and kickoffs, with tailor-made arrangements and menu packages.
