This popular neighbourhood restaurant opened in 2014 on Kommendörsgatan - hence the name - and is run by an established group of restaurateurs from Vassa Eggen, Tennstopet and the coffeehouse Albert & Jack's. NYC's bustling bistro scene has inspired Kommendören's culinary offering, which consists of the owner's personal favourites.
With a focus on both the East and West coasts of the USA, the menu features classics such as chargrilled steak and fish, lobster tacos and sliders. Top it all off with a something decadent for dessert. The sleek, white-tiled bistro is open for dinner almost all week, as well as lunch or a long weekend brunch. The Saturday brunch selection consists of updated classics such as cornbread, kale salad and burgers with a fried egg.
Kommendören also boasts an intimate cocktail bar, where you're never far from the NYC-trained bartenders. Guests can also settle down at the bar and order food from the entire restaurant menu. If you're on the move, you can always select your food to go.
