Restaurants for Valentine's Day

On 14th February, Portal will have extended hours, meaning it will be open for lunch as well, offering the same menu all day. The blackboard will be filled with bonus dishes, and in addition to the regular menu, the kitchen has created a love menu featuring vendace roe, zander with winter greens, praline, and vanilla cream with citrus.

It doesn't get much more romantic than at Tegelbacken, which is almost entirely decorated in red and pink. Renowned chef and restaurateur Markus Aujalay is at the helm, and naturally they're open on Valentine's Day. Come for dinner or lunch.

In the middle of Södermalm, this restaurant and bar named Häktet ("The Jailhouse") was, in fact, a debtors' prison from 1782 to 1872. These days, it's a popular venue that's open until the early hours. On Valentine's Day, they serve a three-course menu with a few different choices for each course.

Beautiful Stadshuskällaren invites you to Valentine's Day with extended hours and a love menu with five courses. Aristo is an elegant neighbourhood bistro, treading the line between beautifully presented fine dining and perfectly-cooked neighbourhood dishes. In honour of this love-filled evening, they've composed a four-course menu where you can choose between meat, fish or vegetarian.

Leijontornet invites all loved-up and lovelorn hedonists to a whole day of good food and drink. This Saturday, they're taking the opportunity to open early for lunch with a full à la carte and tasting menus.

Highly acclaimed Bacchanale in Skanstull also wants to celebrate love. Their à la carte menu takes a back seat for the evening to make way for a well-balanced six-course menu; for lunch, five courses will be served.

The evening starts with a welcome cocktail on arrival and then continues with a dinner experience in the restaurant. Step into a small corner of Paris in Östermalm at the neighbourhood bistro, Brasserie Bobonne. On Valentine's Day, they put a little extra love into their cooking and also offer lunch. 

Perched above the rooftops of Södermalm, Klotet is a trendy restaurant with a European, creative bistro menu. On Valentine's Day, they're serving a romantic three-course menu, featuring truffle agnolotti in chicken broth as the starter, beef or halibut as the main course, and warm sticky toffee pudding with milk ice cream and salted caramel for dessert. If you want to indulge a little more, you can also add Norwegian lobster.

This family-run trattoria focuses on Italian cuisine. Expect the kind of flavours you'd find in Rome's family-run neighbourhood restaurants, Naples' colourful food markets and the sun-kissed seaside towns along the Amalfi Coast. On Valentine's Day they'll be serving a four-course menu of lobster soup, fettucine, Arctic char or fillet of beef, and pannacotta.

Hôtel Reisen boasts a romantic location on Skeppsbron and a magnificent view over Stockholm's inlet. On Valentine's Day, a specially crafted three-course menu will be served in the hotel's classic restaurant.

With art on the walls and a cosy fire in the snug dining room of 17th century Alstavik, you have the perfect conditions for a delightful evening in the winter darkness. The evening features a specially composed three-course menu with lobster salad as a starter, butter-fried cod loin or red wine-braised beef cheek for the main course, and raspberry mousse with chocolate crèmeux for dessert.

Nordic cuisine takes centre stage at Bar Nordic, a bar and restaurant on Vasagatan in the city centre. They serve their own wines and spirits made from Swedish berries and fruits alongside traditional dishes from across Sweden. Between weeks 7 to 8 in 2026, they're offering a Valentine's Day package that includes a welcome drink, a three-course dinner, two glasses of wine, and an aperitif.

Ulriksdals Värdshus looks forward to welcoming everyone who wants to celebrate Valentine's Day, whether it's with family, friends, or a partner. Guests can choose between a three-course menu or a sharing menu featuring dishes such as vendace roe, grilled pike-perch with lobster and langoustine, pink-roasted veal, and chocolate fondant. Drinks packages are available to accompany the meal.

Gondolen spreads their celebration of love over the whole weekend from 13th to 15th February, serving a four-course menu consisting of caviar tartlet, lobster crudo, baked sole, and chocolate fondant for both lunch and dinner. Choose from various wine packages to accompany the menu. The menu is also served at Bar Zeppelin where DJs will set the mood.

Ulla Winbladh serves a love-themed menu on Valentine's Day. Tuck into delicious dishes such as carpaccio of turbot, grilled venison fillet and delicious desserts. There's also a completely vegan menu if you prefer.
