Fresh bread and luxey cakes and pastries
Visit the award-winning Fosch Artisan Pâtisserie for breakfast or lunch, a cup of coffee, to order pastries or just buy your daily loaf of bread. Start the morning with a freshly-baked roll, authentic croissants or pain au chocolat, yoghurt with muesli, juice and excellent coffee. And don't forget to buy one of their decadent cake creations for later.
The real deal
Stora Bageriet serves exquisite cakes and pastries, breakfast and lunch and fresh, hearty meals all day. Breakfast bowls, filled rolls, coffee, salads, soups, thirst-quenching drinks and more. Sit and relax for a while or grab a quick breakfast here before heading out to start your day.
A healthy start to the day
Take a seat at BodyBuddy, either in the inner courtyard or inside in the light, airy premises, and tuck into nutritious bowls, sandwiches and porridge with delicious toppings. Most of the food they serve is gluten and lactose-free.
The perfect breakfast meeting place
Close to the hustle and bustle of Stureplan, continental Grodan is open from early morning to late evening. They serve masses of different breakfast choices - everything from egg dishes to porridge. Book in your breakfast meeting here, or swing by for a speedy breakfast.
Breakfast like in Melbourne
This brunch café doesn't just serve Australian-inspired all-day brunch dishes, they also have lighter breakfast alternatives such as acai bowls and homemade scones. Wash your brekkie down with a flat white or matcha latte from the extensive coffee menu.
The charming Mornington Hotel serves up a popular breakfast every day of the week that includes Swedish and international classics made from locally produced seasonal ingredients. During the summer months you can enjoy breakfast in the peaceful inner courtyard.
Generous breakfast table in gorgeous deli
Broms is a combination of neighbourhood restaurant, deli and bakery, all in extremely stylish packaging. In the mornings they serve sourdough rolls, yoghurt, chia pudding and other delicious dishes to start the day with. Treat yourself to a pain au chocolat, croissant or bulle with your coffee if you're in the mood.
Popular breakfast in pared-back surroundings
This popular, award-winning café has three branches in Stockholm, one of them on Sturegatan. Their sandwiches are as much a treat for the eyes as they are the tastebuds, as are their cakes and pastries, which are extremely tempting even first thing in the morning. Their chia pudding also makes a great breakfast option. Accompany your breakfast with a great cup of coffee brewed using beans that are sustainably and ethically produced and enjoy it all in Pascal's Insta-friendly pared-back surroundings.
A taste of Paris
Experience a taste of Paris in the cocktail bar of the Hotel Kung Carl and eat breakfast until 2pm every day of the week. If you're a hotel guest your room rate includes a breakfast buffet which is served in the restaurant.
A healthy, Continental start to the day
Fiore serves a wide range of well-loved breakfast favourites for all tastes. Choose from a healthy or Continental start to the day. The menu includes bowls, chia pudding, Greek yoghurt and oat porridge, as well as rye bread with various toppings and croissants of all kinds - accompanied, naturally, by great coffee.
Express or long, lazy breakfast
You may know Riche for its cocktails but it's also a top breakfast destination. The menu is extensive and has something for even the most discerning breakfast connoisseur. Kickstart your day with freshly-squeezed juice, oat porridge, sandwiches, croissants, organic eggs and other delicious morning dishes.
Nutritious vegan breakfast
Healthfood guru Renée Voltaire's holistic philosophy pervades this vegan café. Sit down for a while or take away. The concept is based on food in its purest form - organic, unprocessed and additive-free. Fill up on trendy chia pudding, nut youghurt or a delicious buckwheat sandwich and add a real vitamin kick with cold-pressed juice.
Luxurious hotel breakfast
The historic Diplomat hotel occupies a prime location on Strandvägen, a short walk from Stureplan. As well as spending the night here you can also eat every meal of the day here. At breakfast they serve a generous á la carte menu with a wide range of juices and coffees, breads, egg dishes, fruits and berries, porridge and more. You can also visit the store/deli next door for a slightly more relaxed place to start the day.
Cosy breakfast spot
Karla Café feels like a welcoming living room, with books, comfy armchairs and small tables. Mix and match your own breakfast from a choice of breakfast rolls, chia pudding, smoothies or yoghurt, along with filter coffee or tea. Gluten-free, non-dairy and vegan options are available.
Awesome buns and sourdough bread
The tiny Valhalla bakery is famous for their incredible buns and sourdough bread. Start the day in the very best way with a freshly baked roll and coffee, either grab a pew on one of the benches or take your goodies home with you. Don't forget to buy masses of buns to take away while you're there - they're first come, first served and you really don't want to miss out.
Breakfast in the food hall
This popular café in Östermalmshallen indoor food market serves excellent coffee, hearty sandwiches, grilled sandwiches and croissants, colourful juices and much more breakfast-wise, before they start serving lunch and dinner. Grab a spot inside, or watch the world go by from the outdoor dining area in the summer.
Breakfast at boutique hotel
Villa Dagmar is one of the more recent additions to Stockholm's hotel scene. The entrance and outdoor dining area are on Nybrogatan, and inside you're met by a beautiful inner courtyard where you can enjoy your breakfast. The menu is luxurious and ambitious, with an exclusive international hotel feel.
This stone-oven bakery can be easy to miss as it's not on one of the neighbourhood's main streets, but it's well worth a detour. They bake bread of all kinds and the man behind the stove is Gabriel di Grado - a previous winner of Baker of the Year and the Swedish Baking Championships. Everything they make is made from natural ingredients with no additives.
