The guide to Stockholm padel courts

PDL Center in Frihamnen is one of Europe's largest padel facilities, with 22 indoor courts. Book a match with friends, or join a training group or padel course. Players of all levels are welcome, whether you're a first time player or a padel pro.

The pandemic forced the huge Stockholmsmässan exhibition centre to readjust their focus and they now offer 22 bookable padel courts - a total of 396 bookable hours per 24 hr period. There's a shop at the entrance where you can hire padel rackets if you don't have your own.

Padel Zenter in Årsta, which was founded by pro footballer Zlatan Ibrahimović, has nine padel courts all created by the same suppliers of courts as the World Padel Tour. They're open every day, providing both racket and towel hire. You can also refuel with simple snacks.

Fifteen minutes walk from Älvsjö train station, Padel United has six padel courts, with eight metre-high ceilings and surfaces with a "gravel tennis feel". There's also a gym, a shop and a function room suitable for corporate or other events.

Take the ferry from Nybroplan and hop off 20 minutes earlier in Nacka Strand, where there are three outdoor padel courts next to the water. The courts can be booked online and are a perfect place to hang out on warm summer evenings. During the summer months their shop is open if you need to buy equipment.

Play padel for free on the open-air padel courts in Vinterviken. You can't book the courts, so make sure you come in good time so you can get in line for a match. While you wait for your turn you can take a walk in the beautiful surroundings, or visit Vintervikens Trädgårdskafé.

Stockholm Sea Padel open up their floating padel courts in the summer months, for anyone wanting to play padel right on the water in the heart of the city. The courts will be at Skeppsbron for a month, before moving on to Marievik, Strandvägen and Norr Mälarstrand

Every Padel Kista has seven bookable padel courts in large, fresh facilities in Kista industrial area. The hall is equipped with changing rooms with showers and a reception where you can hire rackets and buy snacks.

At Sthlm Beach Club you can play padel in tropical surroundings with wooden decks, palm trees, sand and sunlight all year round. There are three full-size padel courts named Madeira, Mallorca and Ibiza. Their Coconut Café serves simple food, ice cream and drinks to cool off with after your match. You can also book various kinds of events here.

Play padel on the rooftop of the NK Parkaden building in the centre of the city. The facility boasts four padel courts, equipped with specially-ordered black grass, as well as an outdoor gym and an area for yoga and personal training. Right next door is Naboterrassen, where you can re-energise with good food and drinks.

The spa hotel Smådalarö Gård is around 50 minutes outside town and has two padel courts with views over Hemviken. While you're here, have something to eat ligger at the hotel, have a relaxing spa treatment and take a refreshing dip in the sea.

You'll find both Ekerö Padel and Padel Jungfrusund on the island of Ekerö. Ekerö Padel has newly-renovated premises, with three large courts made for doubles games, while in Jungfrusund you can enjoy playing padel in beautiful surroundings with views over Lake Mälaren.
