From then to now
Inspired by Kronobageriet, which was on the same premises until 1958, Stora Bageriet bakes buns and bread continuously in the grand building that also houses Scenkonstmuseet in Östermalm. Kronobageriet produced up to 60,000 loaves per day – something Stora Bageriet aims to make a tradition again. In the meantime, they serve and sell buns, breakfast, and fika, which some consider the best in town. They also have a slightly smaller branch on Sankt Eriksplan.

Artisanal bakery
Previously, only the residents of, and visitors to, Utö have been able to enjoy national team baker Tobias Bergstrand's buns and bread. Now, together with his wife Sara, he has opened a bakery on Frejgatan, much to the delight of all the residents of Vasastan. The bakery is small, with only a few seating areas, so many come here to buy their treats to take away rather than sit and have coffee.
