Scandwich

With "divinely delicious sandwiches", natural wines and beer, Scandwich has become a firm favourite with Stockholmers. Scandwich, which was founded in Malmö by brothers Oskar, Johan and Viktor, opened their first Stockholm branch in Midsommarkransen, and you can now find them on Malmskillnadsgatan in the heart of the city.

At Scandwich it's all about substantial sandwiches, natural wines, board games and good times. The restaurant on Malmskillnadsgatan in the centre of Stockholm serves both lunch and dinner, with the same concept but different menus - and, as well as sandwiches, they also do French fries as sides. If you choose from the lunch menu, fries are always included as is filter coffee.

All their sandwiches are made from scratch to their own recipes, with artisanal attention to detail. Scandwich is the proud winner of the Swedish Sandwich Championships, and if you've tasted one of their sandwiches that will come as no surprise. The menu includes cheekily-named sandwiches with toppings such as shwarma-spiced slow-cooked pork and grilled pointed cabbage with soya mayo.

Drinks consist of selected natural wines from all over the world, as well as a generous range of beers. If you prefer something non-alcoholic they also have a selection of soft drinks.

Scandwich's decor is minimalist and Nordic, with blonde wood furniture. Groups of friends often drop by to eat and play board games and they occasionally organise popular quiz nights. On Saturdays it's karaoke time.
