The historically significant S/S Blidösund from 1911 is the archipelago's only coal-fired steamship and a popular feature of the Stockholm archipelago. She operates the archipelago on Friday trips to Norrtälje via Blidösundet and Sunday trips back to Stockholm via Svartlöga. There is a restaurant and dining rooms on board where you can enjoy good food while the archipelago landscape passes outside the windows.
The menu on board draws inspiration from the flavours of the archipelago and Swedish traditions, with dishes cooked from scratch and seasonal ingredients. On Fridays, you can book a table for dinner on the trip to Norrtälje, regardless of whether you follow a shorter route or the entire route.
Blidösund is also known for Blidösund Live, which are atmospheric evening trips where well-known Swedish artists play live in a unique historical setting. Dinner, music and archipelago views at sunset combine, which has made the trips a popular summer tradition for many guests.
During high summer and late summer, excursions to archipelago islands are also arranged from Norrtälje and Furusund. The dining room is open for both lunch and dinner guests, which makes it easy to combine the excursion with a meal on board.
The ship can also be hired out for companies and private events on days when she is not in service. There are three dining rooms on board with space for a total of 60 seated guests, while the entire ship can accommodate up to 250 people for mingling.
