S/S Storskär

Classic archipelago outing with Swedish flavours

The heritage steamship S/S Storskär from 1908 is the archipelago's fastest steamship. Today, Storskär operates regular services in the Stockholm archipelago, with lunch and dinner served in the ship's dining room. This is a ship for anyone looking for a traditional Swedish meal with a beautiful view.

The food on board is inspired by classic Swedish archipelago flavours and is served as a sit-down meal, with dishes that vary according to the season. The menu varies according to the season and offers everything from pickled herring plates and Steamboat steak to desserts such as Skipper Bengt's ice cream dessert. If you want to go all-in, you can round off your meal with a shot of punsch.

Storskär runs daily tours of the archipelago via Vaxholm, among other places, with departures that suit both lunch and dinner cruises. On weekdays, the classic evening tour traditionally departs at 4:45 p.m., and there are also lunch departures in the middle of the day. At weekends, they organise popular full-day cruises to Möja and Husarö, among other places, where the journey through the archipelago becomes an excursion in itself.

You can pre-book a seat in the dining room, but boat tickets are purchased on board since the ship operates in Waxholmsbolaget's traffic.
