19th century festivities
Celebrating the new year at Skansen has been a tradition since 1895. The festivities are broadcast live on Swedish national television and just before the stroke of midnight Alfred Lord Tennyson's poem "Ring out wild bells" is recited on stage, before fireworks explode over Stockholm. The event is very popular, so it's advisable to get to Skansen in good time.

New Year's Eve premiere
