Kungsholmen's best wine bars

At Vinfolket on Kungsholmstorg the team aims to provide their guests with unusually good wines at unusually friendly prices. The place is run by two true wine nerds who also have their own online wine shop, and who themselves often visit the producers whose wines they sell and serve. Kungsholmen's first wine bar focused on natural wine goes by the name Chewie's Bar. Craft drinks are the order of the day here, mainly in the form of natural and small-batch wines, but Swedish beer and cider are also available if you want to change things up a little. Test your way through delicately light red wines, funky orange wines and sparkling pét-nat, and dig into plant-based small plates and open sandwiches if your hunger kicks in.

Tucked away at a fairly discreet address, this wine bar has drawn people from all over Stockholm to Kungsholmen. Bar Abrovinsch uncorks both natural wines and more traditional bottles, which they serve alongside innovative small and medium plates. Spontaneity is the name of the game here – the menu changes regularly, and it's drop-in only, so make sure you're there bright and early if you want to secure a table.

At Kungsholmen's Vinbar, wine defines both the menu and the interiors. Surrounded by bottles and glasses, you can drink everything from red and white to sparkling wine and orange wine – something to suit almost all tastes, in other words. The menu also includes dishes with influences from the Mediterranean. Worth noting is that the bar is open for general wine socialising on weekdays, while Saturdays are earmarked for wine tastings, quizzes and other events. 

Le Passepartout was born out of a father and son's shared dream of building something of their own from scratch. The result is an authentic and super-French wine bar in central Kungsholmen, where you can come to drink hand-picked wines and eat traditional French home cooking. On the wine list there are around 200 different labels with all kinds of grapes, from both well-known and lesser-known producers, but with France as the common denominator.

Klöver's premises in Fredhäll feel more like a living room than a wine bar, with both a disco ball and lush plants hanging from the ceiling. The place is run by the young couple Suzanna and Måns, who have created a little oasis for anyone who loves natural wine, particularly bottles of French origin. Food is also served, in the form of small plates with influences from both the Nordic countries and the Mediterranean.

If you turn left instead of right as you step inside the entrance to Restaurant AG, you'll come to AG Bar, a more drinks-focused offshoot of the well-known steakhouse. A first look at the wine list is far from disappointing, but if you want even more to choose from, don't miss the QR code that leads you to their full range. A valuable tip! It's often busy here, with a lively atmosphere and sometimes even DJs spinning the music.

If you're celebrating something special, or simply looking to treat yourself to an evening of luxury, Le Bar is a place to set your sights on. It's all about champagne here and the selection is both broad and carefully composed. To complement the French bubbles, food - caviar and vendace roe, for example - is of the same high calibre. As the icing on the cake, the bar, with its location at the very top of the DN skyscraper, boasts incredible views.

Thanks to Xarcuteria you don't need to leave Kungsholmen to partake in Spanish food and drink culture. This small tapas and wine bar is filled with wine bottles, most from Spain but with exceptions for a few selected varieties from other countries. The idea is that everyone should feel welcome to come in for a glass of wine or two, and a few tapas dishes if your tummy starts to rumble.
