The best views in Stockholm

At the top of the new lifestyle hotel At Six on Brunkebergstorg you can enjoy the view over the rooftops in four different directions at the rooftop restaurant Tak (designed by Wingårdhs Architects). Combine with food or a cocktail - there's a restaurant, raw bar, bar and terrace. Gastronomic star Frida Ronge is behind the Nordic-Japanese flavours.

The name comes from an old restaurant that used to be in the area, but this is definitely an updated concept with well-thought-out interior design, design choices, and an unpretentious, simple, and playful menu. 

The champagne bar boasts an impressive panoramic view from Södra Teatern's seventh and highest floor. During the summer the bar balcony's open for anyone who fancies drinking champagne and champagne cocktails, but naturally you can also enjoy the view from Mosebacketerrassen. Not quite as far off the ground, but still striking. You can hire the champagne bar for parties and events. 

Right at the top of the Downtown Camper by Scandic hotel, you can enjoy the views over Stockholm while you sip on a mocktail or signature cocktail in relaxing surroundings. The roofbar is open from afternoon to late evening and is part of the hotel's wellness area The Nest and the heated outdoor swimming pool has the same stunning view.

An elevator ride up to the ninth floor of Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotels will take you to HIGH Bar, which boasts a spectacular panoramic view over both the water and the rooftops of Stockholm city. Enjoy cocktails, bubbly drinks, and light snacks year-round, whatever the weather. 

Gondolen at Slussen is perhaps one of the city's most distinctive and talked-about viewpoints. The long, narrow part of the building, towards the Katarinahissen elevator, offers an unbeatable view of Stockholm harbour and the city's rooftops. Combine views with dinner, lunch or a cocktail.

During the summer months you're free to admire the view from Urban Deli's Urban Deli's roof park in the heart of the city. A popular meeting place nine floors up, with wide open spaces, plenty of greenery and bars both indoors and out. Perfect if you're after panoramic views over the rooftops of Stockholm.

The One Tap bar is on Katarinavägen, right near the viewpoint known as one of the best in the city. In the summer, the outdoor seating area opens with views over the water which you can enjoy while eating a 'Detroit style pizza' or a burrito inspired by San Francisco, all made from scratch. Substantial food requires substantial drinks, so here you'll find beer, cocktails that change with the seasons, tequila, and mezcal. The bar is inspired by so-called 'dive bars' in North America, i.e. simple bars with good food and a relaxed atmosphere.

In the summer of 2023, the rooftop restaurant Freyja opened with its accompanying cocktail bar and rooftop terrace named Söder. The restaurant serves hearty dishes focusing on Nordic flavours, while the large terrace overlooking Riddarfjärden, City Hall, and the rooftops of Söder is a more relaxed setting with graffiti paintings and street food.

Within the luxurious building that houses Bank Hotel, you'll also find Le Hibou, an elegant cocktail bar inspired by Paris. During the summer months, they open up two rooftop terraces, which feel like secret oases in a bustling capital city.

During the summer months, guests flood in to the popular restaurant on the terrace of Dramaten theatre, where you can enjoy lunch or a glass of wine in the sun. Beneath the terrace, the waters of Nybroviken glisten and the streets are filled with trams and strolling city-dwellers.

At the very top of the Skrapan skyscraper in Södermalm is Himlen, which has two floors at its disposal. Come here for lunch, dinner or cocktails with one of Stockholm's best views, all in vibrant surroundings with specially designed decor and large artworks on the walls.

Unlike many other places with great views, Krog Agrikultur isn't located at a high altitude – on the contrary, the restaurant is actually under(!) a bridge. And not just any bridge, but the Guldbron in Slussen, which means a unique and impressive view over the water and the passing boats. It's especially lovely when the outdoor seating opens in the summer! Enjoy a truly ambitious dinner or just have a drink in delightful surroundings. 

If you love heights and panoramic views, don't miss Sjöstaden Skybar right at the top of the Sthlm 01 skyscraper. A modern destination for anyone who wants to eat and socialise at 100 metres high. Even the toilets have fantastic views here.

At the top of Erstaklippan, in an area known for its beautiful views, is Ersta Terrace. Have lunch, coffee, or enjoy a drink with beautiful views over Stockholm's inlet, Djurgården, and the Old Town, either indoors or out on the terrace. Lunch consists of a generous buffet with flavours from all around the world. Ersta Terrace is also a popular party and conference venue.

You'll find this gem close to Slussen, with fabulous cocktails, a relaxed bar scene and great views over the entrance to Stockholm harbour. The bar is right at the top of the Scandic Sjöfartshotellet and is a top tip for anyone who enjoys panoramic views.

25 floors up from Liljeholmskajen, you can enjoy a meal or sip on a drink with a 360-degree view of the city. The focus here is on 'inclusive gastronomy', with a menu full of familiar dishes where everyone should find something they like.

Right at the top of Kulturhuset on Sergels torg you'll find Teaterbaren, whose huge windows provide wide-reaching views over Stockholm. An easy spot to drop by for a light meal, cup of coffee or glass of wine. In the summer months they open up their rooftop terrace, with a café, cocktails and live performances.  

At the top of the DN skyscraper, you'll find Pontus Frithiof's fine dining restaurant La Tour. He calls it power dining rather than fine dining, to emphasise the height of luxury. You'll also find the cocktail bar Le Bar here, which accepts reservations and welcomes walk-in guests subject to availability. 

As the sister restaurant to Restaurant Etoile, this is a luxurious venue for dinner and drinks. Reserve a table for fine dining or enjoy cocktails with a view from the terrace.

From the 25th floor of the Quality Hotel Friends skyscraper you can enjoy panoramic views of Stockholm. Brasserie X is a modern, relaxed restaurant which combines spectacular views with cocktails and French food.
