These mega-hyped clubs are housed in the former meatpacking district outside the city and this is the place to come to party to electronic music in a raw industrial environment. Oxid and The Spitting Bulldog, located just off Stureplan next door to Vassa Eggen, are popular haunts with a varied crowd. During the day Oxid is a tapas bar and The Spitting Bulldog a classic pub - then a nightly transformation takes place, the music is cranked up a notch and the drinks start flowing. Free admission and reasonably priced booze is a winning concept for those looking for a more casual alternative to the swankier Stureplan clubs.

You can always count on Debaser - whether it's hanging out at the bar, partying or live music you're after. Just follow the waterside walking path in Hornstull until you get to where the party's at. This intimate little bar/nightclub, Storstad's little sister, draws in the crowds for their cocktails and packed dancefloor. They play the best music from the Seventies to the Nineties until 3am and, as well as DJs, they host exclusive musical performances.

The Stureplan stalwart East has been one of Stockholm's favourite clubs since the Nineties and they're also open until 3am every day of the week. Cocktails combine with DJs in both the bar and the restaurant and it's a fun, mixed crowd.

Alternative club on Stureplan
Sturehof is both a popular seafood restaurant and bar, perfect for casual hangouts. If you're in the mood for a slightly more boisterous club setting the adjoining Obaren is a safe bet. An energetic crowd, pulsing music and classic party-vibes, the music varies between rock, soul and electro. Open all week!

Trädgården is a popular summer club which transforms into Under Bron during the autumn and winter months. The club and event venue is a musical melting point, with an emphasis on electronic and underground music and performances.
