Folkparken on Sveavägen serves American BBQ with an international touch, inspired by neighbourhoods such as Vesterbro in Copenhagen and Brooklyn in New York. Choose from a wide selection of meat dishes and crafts beers on tap, served in the large, industrial-feel premises.

Solen takes their inspiration from sunny food meccas such as Tel Aviv, Naples, Santa Fe and Oaxaca and has created a lively menu full of charcoal-grilled and smoked dishes. An open fire crackles in the middle of the room and the restaurant's furniture revolves around it like a solar system. Anyone who loves food, culture and socialising can meet here for a sun-drenched gastronomic journey from well-known chef duo Adam Dahlberg and Albin Wessman.

This Japanese grill bar on Rörstrandsgatan works with the robatayaki grill technique, where food is grilled on skewers over charcoal embers. Just take a seat and share a selection of small dishes around the table - the menu includes everything from short ribs to tuna tataki and grilled tofu.

Steninge Bruk is housed in a beautiful old converted stone barn half an hour outside the city, and it boasts one of Sweden's largest indoor grills. Their brunch buffet, with food served straight from the grill, makes a lovely weekend outing and you can combine your meal with a walk in the picturesque castle surroundings.

Ever since K-Amed first conquered Södermalm and later Kungsholmen, diners have been able to enjoy authentic shish kebab grilled over an aromatic bed of wood charcoal that has its origins in present-day southeastern Turkey, in the city of Diyarbakir.
