This healthfood café opened in 2015 and there are branches in both Södermalm and Vasastan. You can eat and drink here with a clear conscience as everything they serve is made to the highest ethical and environmental standards. Mahalo works primarily with organic ingredients and you'll find everything from bowls and wraps to cold and hot dishes on the menu. The drinks list includes juices, smoothies and health shots.

Trendy spot

After opening, À la Lo quickly became a hit with Stockholmers thanks to their conscious aesthetic and trendy menu. The café is run by a mother and daughter, both of whom are passionate about food, coffee, France, croissants and people. Enjoy pastries, homemade lemonade, breakfast bowls and sandwiches, many of them available in vegan form.

Conscious eating

This healthfood café in Hornstull serves fika and food for anyone who cares about living a conscious, healthy lifestyle. Most of the food and the drinks on the menu are both raw and organic and there are masses of nutritious smoothies, simple, on-trend lunch dishes and even sweet treats such as raw cakes and pastries made without gluten, lactose or sugar.

Even ice cream comes in vegan form! At least at StikkiNikki in Mariatorget, which is a fully vegan ice-cream bar. There are several tasty flavours tailored specifically for vegans – from sorbet to classic flavours such as vanilla and chocolate.

Kafé Plattan

Organic and vegan coffee take centre stage at Kafé Plattan, located on the ground floor of Kulturhuset. The counters are full of home-baked goodies such as buns, pies, Oreo cakes and other pastries. The café is also known for its seasonal vegan semlor, which include everything from midsummer semlor with strawberries to autumn semlor with apples and almonds.

Lots of people know about Happy Atelier's delicious gluten-free rolls and breads, but they also have an extensive selection of sweet and savoury vegan goodies. Take your treats home with you or enjoy them in the cosy café in Kungsholmen.

Bageri Passion

Vegan in Sundbyberg

Bageri Passion bakes top quality cakes and pastries to suit all preferences. They use organic ingredients wherever possible, and they offer an unusually large range of vegan breads, pastries and coffee. If you come here at the beginning of the year, it's basically obligatory to try their vegan semla, which always get really good reviews.

You'll find this green option on the second floor of the Åhléns City department store, perfect for anyone looking for a healthy break in their shopping trip or just passing by. Sate your hunger with a vegan salad, or a breakfast roll if you're out and about early on.

Just like a living room

As well as sweet things, like decadent vegan brownies with coconut frosting, you'll find smoothies and freshly squeezed orange juice on the menu. It feels just like hanging out in someone's sitting room.

Blå Lotus

Oriental influences

Blå Lotus is a well-loved favourite that always offers vegan options. Cosy decor contributes to the relaxed atmosphere, with eastern influences. Café is a true classic and has been around for more than 20 years. Everything is made from scratch and vegans can choose from salads, sandwiches and more. The staff are very helpful, so feel free to ask.

Green Praline

Chocolate workshop

Friends Sphinx and Michelle run this 100% vegan and gluten-free patisserie in Hökarängen. Indulge in homemade chocolates, pastries, cakes and fine coffee, which you can also take home with you from the shop. Dogs are also welcome at Green Praline.

Hermans

Hermans serves plant-based dishes and desserts, with flavours and influences from several different cultures and cuisines. As well as a wide selection of homemade vegan desserts, you'll find an extensive drinks list with both warm and hot drinks. In the summer you can have a coffee out on their terrace and enjoy the stunning view of the city.

Omayma

No funny business

Tasty cakes and pastries, breakfast all day and lunch - all made without any artificial ingredients. That's the order of the day at Omayma, whose counters are filled daily with freshly baked fika bread, hearty sandwiches and other goodies. They're not completely vegan, but anyone who prefers to eat plant-based will find a lot to choose from here. The range of gluten-free and raw food is also excellent.
