If you come here at the beginning of the year, it's basically obligatory to try their vegan semla, which always get really good reviews.

You'll find this green option on the second floor of the Åhléns City department store, perfect for anyone looking for a healthy break in their shopping trip or just passing by. Sate your hunger with a vegan salad, or a breakfast roll if you're out and about early on.

Tasty cakes and pastries, breakfast all day and lunch - all made without any artificial ingredients. That's the order of the day at Omayma, whose counters are filled daily with freshly baked fika bread, hearty sandwiches and other goodies. They're not completely vegan, but anyone who prefers to eat plant-based will find a lot to choose from here. The range of gluten-free and raw food is also excellent.

The days when vegans had to compromise on really delicious fika are (fortunately) a thing of the past. Among the cookies at KJ's Cookies there's always a vegan variant, as lovingly baked as the rest of the range.

Are you a real cookie monster? If you're not yet, you definitely will be after a visit to Sponge Cookies. With a passion for cookies, the place's founder, Irishman Mark, bakes sweet and chewy cookies with flavourings such as peanut butter, caramel and chocolate. The range includes several vegan variants, as well as cakes free of nuts and gluten. The place is small but has a couple of seats, and naturally it's fine to grab your coffee to go.
