Villa Dahlia celebrates Sunday with pomp and circumstance; the day begins with a luxurious à la carte brunch, followed by a three-course family dinner. Restaurateurs Rima Ismails and Samir Kersh opened their restaurant Kanon in 2024 and it quickly became a very popular spot. Here, they serve a grill menu inspired by the Middle East, the Mediterranean, and South America.

This French-influenced neighbourhood restaurant, high up in east Södermalm close to Vitabergs park, makes regular appearances on Instagram with their Cacio e pepe. The atmosphere is relaxed and it's an ideal place to come any day of the week, for cocktails or a cosy dinner. The standard's always high at Café Nizza.

Michelin-starred chef Björn Frantzén is behind this ambitious brasserie in Östermalm, but despite the high gastronomic bar, Astoria aims to be a relaxed meeting place for anyone who wants to hang out and eat and drink well. The restaurant takes its name from the building it's in, the former Astoria cinema. The menu consists of Continental flavours.

Bar Agrikultur is a well-loved restaurant gem on Nytorget. With only a handful of seats, the experience is intimate and the service is spot on. Enjoy European small dishes from a menu that changes regularly.

The atmosphere at this salty sister restaurant is as lively as at Rolfs Kök, but the menu is more sea-focused. Relax and enjoy the buzz, while filling your stomach with the very freshest produce the sea has to offer. 

How about rounding off the week in Japanese style, with numerous small dishes, skewers straight from the grill, and perhaps a dash of sake? Miyakodori aims to offer Stockholmers a true izakaya experience - that is, a relaxed place to meet over food and drink. Expect ultra-fresh ingredients and innovative flavour combinations.

Every day of the year, Tres Taco Joint serves tacos and cocktails in its cosy restaurant in the heart of the city. The restaurant is on Brunkebergstorg, where they've created an oasis with colourful neon signs, calaveras, bunting, and cacti, giving the feeling of being at a Dia de los Muertos festival in Mexico City.

When you want to meet up with your best friend for a Sunday gossip over a cold beer. Frippe is a real go-to spot. Socialise in a Continental way - that is to say, perched at the bar with various Spanish small and medium-sized dishes to share. If your tummy's really rumbling, there are also a couple of larger dishes to dig into too.

At Nostrano, the week gets an elegant finale with Italian flavours in a new format. The owners of Mellqvist Matbar on Rörstrandsgatan aim to provide a warm, welcoming dinner experience with a second-living-room feel. On Sundays they celebrate “Schnitzel Sunday”, with new variations on classic schnitzel. Expect influences from all over the world - from Austrian schnitzels to Japanese tonkatsu. Pair your meal with wines hand selected by the owners themselves. 

You can count on mega-popular, award-winning Ho's in Hornstull seven days a week. Groups of families and friends gather here to eat authentic Chinese dishes in a relaxed atmosphere, and for anyone that prefers Thai food, their sister restaurant Ho's Thai is just a few doors down.

Sundays are perfect for really rich, tasty comfort food, especially if Saturday night was a big one. At Texas-influenced Brisket & Friends, you can build your own meal of protein paired with sides like mac n' cheese, creamed corn, and sweet potatoes. Cosy and warming.

Bar, restaurant, deli? Mediterranean-inspired Schmaltz on Nybrogatan welcomes all passers-by, whether it's for a coffee by the window, a glass of wine on the outdoor dining area, something to eat in the restaurant or to buy something to take home with you from the deli. Perhaps your Sunday dinner?

Little Babette is part of the stretch of trendy restaurants along Roslagsgatan and getting a booking here isn't always easy. Legendary pizzas, innovative small dishes and an impressive wine list are on offer seven days a week, and what could be more perfect on a Sunday afternoon?

This popular pizza bistro on Skånegatan also serves various Zeitgeisty main courses. Lots of guests come just for the pizza though, which is served direct from the wood-fired oven. Open until late seven days a week.

At this rustic yet posh pizzeria pizzas are made from organic flour from Saltå mill and cut up into slices so everyone around the table can share. You can also get salads, flatbreads and chicken wings, and combine it all with Swedish microbrews.

Take a pew among the wooden chairs and communal tables and choose a favourite from the limited pizza menu with both new and classic flavours. There's always a special pizza of the week, made from seasonal ingredients.
