Solen serves up warm flavours from destinations such as Tel Aviv, Naples, Santa Fe and Oaxaca, in well-designed surroundings ideal for socialising and enjoying culinary delights. Celebrate the weekend with a festive lunch or dinner filled with various small dishes, barbecue and pizzas. The restaurant is run by renowned chef duo Adam and Albin, who are also behind the helm of Michelin-starred restaurant Adam/Albin.

This ambitious neighbourhood restaurant on Mariatorget is run by the restaurateurs behind popular ventures such as Linje Tio, and they're open seven days a week too. A special four-course menu is served on Sundays, which could include clams and apple pie for dessert.

Gastronomy at Forma spans the globe from France to Asia, and then onwards to Sweden. Exciting fusion dishes are the order of the day, served at both brunch and dinner at the weekend. Grodan is something of an institution in Östermalm, and since its opening in 1985 it has gathered a solid group of regulars who come here every week to eat, drink, and socialise in historic surroundings. The menu combines classic Swedish flavours with French cuisine. Two staples they serve every day are Grodan's special fish stew and raggmunk potato pancakes.

At Chez Kny, you can round off the week in charming, homely surroundings, but with slightly more luxurious food on your plate. Every Sunday, a new dinner menu is served that changes as much according to the seasons as it does with the kitchen's inspiration for the day. On the last Sunday of the month, they also host a brunch, serving everything from fancy bowls and sandwiches to sweeter options.

Tjoget has won prizes for their bar, but it's also well worth a visit for the food. They're open until late seven days a week and they serve a menu packed with innovative Continental small dishes in their lively dining room. During the summer months their outdoor dining area is extremely popular.

Are you a committed carnivore? If so, AG might already be your regular spot, but if not, this is where you should spend your Sunday evening. The rustic restaurant has been named Sweden's best steakhouse several times and offers a wide selection of well-prepared cuts such as entrecôte, porterhouse, and club steak. There are also a few dishes with fish or vegetarian options on the menu, as well as Southern European small plates.

Agnes on Norra Agnegatan invites you to hangout in relaxed neighbourhood restaurant surroundings. Tuck into a selection of small plates and main courses to share and enjoy the communal feel of long tables and an open kitchen.

This wine café has a wide selection of natural wine, perfect for pairing with wine-friendly food such as cheese and charcuterie, various sharing dishes and the odd handmade pasta dish. The charming setting and laid-back atmosphere make for a cosy, relaxed ending to the week.

At Voisine, you can round off the week with well-prepared bistro food with a Swedish-French twist. The menu changes regularly, so if you want to know exactly what's being served, you can check their social media – or let the chefs surprise you. The atmosphere is cosy and exudes a luxurious neighbourhood restaurant feel.

Sundays have a relaxed atmosphere and a family-friendly vibe at this sports bar and restaurant in Hornsberg. Pair your meal with a game of shuffleboard, a nice Sunday stroll along the waterfront, or simply sit back and enjoy the view from the window seats.

This French-influenced neighbourhood restaurant, high up in east Södermalm close to Vitabergs park, makes regular appearances on Instagram with their Cacio e pepe. The atmosphere is relaxed and it's an ideal place to come any day of the week, for cocktails or a cosy dinner. The standard's always high at Café Nizza.

Michelin-starred chef Björn Frantzén is behind this ambitious brasserie in Östermalm, but despite the high gastronomic bar, Astoria aims to be a relaxed meeting place for anyone who wants to hang out and eat and drink well. The restaurant takes its name from the building it's in, the former Astoria cinema. The menu consists of Continental flavours.

Kommendören, on Kommendörsgatan, is open seven days a week and they serve the kind of food they themselves want to eat. Round off the week at this New York-inspired bistro with dishes such as seared tuna, Asian steak tartare and grilled Argentinian red prawns, not to mention desserts such as vanilla ice cream with toffeel sauce and caramelised popcorn. 

The atmosphere at this salty sister restaurant is as lively as at Rolfs Kök, but the menu is more sea-focused. Relax and enjoy the buzz, while filling your stomach with the very freshest produce the sea has to offer. 

How about rounding off the week in Japanese style, with numerous small dishes, skewers straight from the grill, and perhaps a dash of sake? Miyakodori aims to offer Stockholmers a true izakaya experience - that is, a relaxed place to meet over food and drink. Expect ultra-fresh ingredients and innovative flavour combinations.

Take your car, boat or public transport out to Slipen, which is housed in an old boatyard right next to the water. The bistro is run by the Fabrique café chain, and they've created a relaxed hangout serving good, mainly Swedish, food. When you want to meet up with your best friend for a Sunday gossip over a cold beer. Frippe is a real go-to spot. Socialise in a Continental way - that is to say, perched at the bar with various Spanish small and medium-sized dishes to share. If your tummy's really rumbling, there are also a couple of larger dishes to dig into too.

At Nostrano, the week gets an elegant finale with Italian flavours in a new format. Their homemade pasta dishes alone are worth a visit, but if you want to go all out, you can put together your own four-course menu that's rounded off with dessert and perhaps a little grappa. This award-winning little restaurant at the end of Folkungagatan has been a favourite with Stockholmers since they opened. From the outside, Pat's Place doesn't look like anything special, but once inside you'll find an unpretentious restaurant serving delicious Thai tapas.

The unpretentious venue enhances the atmosphere, which is relaxed and friendly.

Take the lift up to the eighth floor inside the Scandic Continental hotel, where you'll find their fabulous rooftop bar, Capital. Enjoy a variety of dishes to satisfy your hunger, such as salads, burgers, and other favourites, as well as smaller snacks like charcuterie and fries, all in relaxed surroundings. If you fancy a cocktail, you've come to the right place: both signature drinks and classic cocktails are expertly prepared here.

The owners of Mellqvist Matbar on Rörstrandsgatan aim to provide a warm, welcoming dinner experience with a second-living-room feel. On Sundays they celebrate “Schnitzel Sunday”, with new variations on classic schnitzel. Expect influences from all over the world - from Austrian schnitzels to Japanese tonkatsu. Pair your meal with wines hand selected by the owners themselves. 

You can count on mega-popular, award-winning Ho's in Hornstull seven days a week. Groups of families and friends gather here to eat authentic Chinese dishes in a relaxed atmosphere, and for anyone that prefers Thai food, their sister restaurant Ho's Thai is just a few doors down.

Sundays are perfect for really rich, tasty comfort food, especially if Saturday night was a big one. At Texas-influenced Brisket & Friends, you can build your own meal of protein paired with sides like mac n' cheese, creamed corn, and sweet potatoes. Cosy and warming.

The rooftop of the Åhléns City department store welcomes guests to a colourful environment with a genuine Capri feel. Basta focuses on locally sourced dishes inspired by sunny Italy, such as handmade pasta, Neapolitan pizzas, and various antipasti. You don't usually need to book a table if you're a small group, but at popular times it's worth being on the safe side. The glass house with its simple, beautiful design has stood in the same place since 1955 and has, among other things, housed a gas station, but it's now a big city oasis for Stockholmers and visitors alike.

Stortorgskällaren on Stortorget, the Old Town's central square, is open all week. Classic Swedish dishes with a twist are made from organic, locally-produced ingredients.  The building is a former furniture workshop, a heritage that gives the restaurant a unique character, with lots of wood.

At this traditional restaurant, which has been run by the Svenska Brasserier restaurant group since 2022, you can enjoy both lunch and dinner with flavours from Sweden and the southern parts of Europe. The impressive views over Stockholm are also part of the draw.

A Stockholm favourite on Södermalm that gets the very last rays of sun during the summer months. This neighbourhood restaurants serves Asian flavours in small and larger portions. You may have heard of their dumplings, fried and served in a butter broth? You'll also find dishes such as tartare and sushi on the menu, as well as their must-try, ambitious cocktails.

Brasserie Balzac in Vasastan oozes with Paris and NYC style, a large, airy brasserie run by a team with numerous popular restaurants on their CVs. The menu is packed with everything from hors d'oeuvres to main courses such as mussels and steak tartare. A fine French finale to the week.

Why not partake in a Sunday cocktail? And not just any old cocktail. Pharmarium tops the list of Stockholm's most celebrated cocktail bars. They serve innovative drinks and selected small dishes to enjoy alongside.

This popular pizza bistro on Skånegatan also serves various Zeitgeisty main courses. Lots of guests come just for the pizza though, which is served direct from the wood-fired oven. Open until late seven days a week.

Little Babette is part of the stretch of trendy restaurants along Roslagsgatan and getting a booking here isn't always easy. Legendary pizzas, innovative small dishes and an impressive wine list are on offer seven days a week, and what could be more perfect on a Sunday afternoon?

At this rustic yet posh pizzeria pizzas are made from organic flour from Saltå mill and cut up into slices so everyone around the table can share. You can also get salads, flatbreads and chicken wings, and combine it all with Swedish microbrews.

Take a pew among the wooden chairs and communal tables and choose a favourite from the limited pizza menu with both new and classic flavours. There's always a special pizza of the week, made from seasonal ingredients.
