Adria have made a name for themselves for their delicious pasta. Homemade fresh taglioni and ravioli, for example, or seafood spaghetti and mezze paccheri with ragu. Den gamle och havet ("The old man and the sea") is a classic restaurant for pasta lovers. Seafood delicacies are their specialty and they serve pasta dishes made with prawns and octopus, among other marine delights. The decor is romantic with candlelight and white tablecloths.

Posto is run by foodie Phillipe Cohen and the concept here is simple: pasta, pasta, pasta! Rustic and simple dishes are served continuously and there are options available for vegetarians too. Takeaway or dine in, it's your choice.

A hip pasta restaurant, just as you'd expect when you find yourself in trendy Södermalm. Gazza loves to experiment with new flavours and ingredients in their pasta dishes, which you can choose from a short but exciting menu.

Nostrano is one of the cosiest restaurants in town and always a safe bet if you want to experience some authentic Italian ambience. They're known for their family atmosphere and genuine Italian flavours – especially the pasta dishes. Florentine, Basta's sister restaurant, takes its inspiration from the Italian 70s with glamorous vibes galore. Food is intended to be shared with the table just like at an Italian family dinner. The menu includes handmade pasta made fresh daily. 

At Capannone they make their own pasta and serve it in the form of elegantly presented Italian signature dishes. The team behind the restaurant have taken their inspiration from Little Italy in New York and created a stylish atmosphere with subdued lighting, velvet furniture and white tablecloths. Ideal for a romantic date, family dinner or a meal with a group of friends. 

Every day, Trattoria Villa Romana in Kungsholmen and Villa Romana on Odenplan make their own fresh pasta from three different kinds of Italian flour and eggs. The pasta is then served in the form of classic carbonara, shellfish pasta, truffle pasta and ravioli. Enjoy your pasta in intimate surroundings with masses of candlelight and a romantic atmosphere.

La Vecchia Signora, regarded as one of the best Italians in the city, serves authentic dishes in a romantic setting. The restaurant is inspired by the Piemonte region and the menu includes a small (but delicious) selection of pasta options.

The Italian neighbourhood restaurant Ciao Ciao Grande opened its doors in Östermalm in 1995 and is a classic in the area. The restaurant is possibly best known for its popular pizzas, but you'll also find plenty of Italian pasta dishes with something to suit all tastes on the menu.

Panza combines Italian postmodernism in its decor with modern dishes on the menu. The latter includes a variety of pasta dishes, all created with seasonal ingredients and great respect for Italian culinary traditions, topped off with a modern twist.

Eataly has created a food court in a magnificent former cinema building, inspired by buzzy, Italian town squares. La Piazza restaurant serves up cheese and charcuterie, pizza, grilled dishes and, naturally, pasta. Pasta is made in the traditional Italian way.
