Varvet summer restaurant is in Högmarsö boatyard, right on the waterfront in the Stockholm archipelago. It's run by Chef of the Year winner Tomas Diederichsen and his wife Klara, a sommelier. Despite their fancy titles, Varvet is far from smart - relaxed, summery vibes are the name of the game here, with a focus on delicious food and drinks and fun events.
It takes just over an hour and a half to get to Varvet from central Stockholm by car, and you can also travel by bus or boat. If you want to stay the night you can book one of the four hotel rooms in the Kajhuset building right next to the restaurant. Varvet can also help arrange parties and weddings during the summer months.
If you want to experience the spirit of Varvet during the colder months of the year, book a private dinner at its little sister restaurant Garaget, in Älvsjö south of Stockholm.
