Celebrate New Year's Eve in Stockholm

Björn Frantzén's grand brasserie on Östermalmstorg will be celebrating New Year's Eve with fitting pomp and circumstance. They've created a luxurious five-course menu for the occasion, featuring items such as king crab, steak tartare, lobster, and flounder, but the regular à la carte menu is also available. The New Year's menu must be booked in advance.

For the first time in world history, Bar DoMa is opening on New Year's Eve! There will be a long sitting with masses of good food, all served without stress. How about, for example, a lumpfish roe cone, truffle toast, gratinated langoustines, scallop with cucumber and fermented chili, pepper steak with diced potatoes, Wrångebäck cheese and pickled tomato salad, and fudge brownie with salted caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream, chocolate crèmeux, and peanut crumble?

Two sittings with either three or four courses is the order of the day when Kung Carl welcomes guests to their new year's eve celebrations in their La Belle Epoque bistro. You can also choose their vegetarian or vegan menu. If you want to carry on the party, it's handily located for the clubs and bars of Stureplan, and if you'd rather retire to a comfy bed you can book a room at the hotel.

At the Rival hotel in Södermalm, you can swing by almost all day as the bars are open from the morning until 2am. The glamorous Art Deco surroundings literally add a touch of gold to the New Year celebrations.

Celebrate the new year with Indio Kitchen's luxurious omakase featuring dishes that chef Gianluca has crafted especially for this evening. The restaurant is open until 1am, but after 11pm it transforms into a lively cocktail and wine bar where the celebrations continue. It's also just a stone's throw from Katarinavägen, perfect for those looking to head to the vantage point to ring in the midnight hour with fireworks and other New Year's Eve revellers.

Welcome in the new year at Vår Gård's castle-like restaurant, Villa Skärtofta. The New Year's feast consists of seven dishes made from high-quality ingredients worthy of the last evening of the year. For an added touch of luxury,  kickstart dinner with a drink in the cocktail bar Tant Grön.

At the Scandic Grand Central's restaurant Teaterbrasseriet, you can celebrate the new year in New York-inspired surroundings. Celebrating the new year at Skansen has been a tradition since 1895. The festivities are broadcast live on Swedish national television and just before the stroke of midnight Alfred Lord Tennyson's poem "Ring out wild bells" is recited on stage, before fireworks explode over Stockholm. The event is very popular, so it's advisable to get to Skansen in good time.

Celebrate New Year's on Djurgården, where Konsthallen will be serving a luxurious supper. On the last night of the year they arrange a gala New Year's Eve supper, with Västerbotten cheese fritters, Jerusalem artichoke soup, beef tournedos and a melting chocolate ball. You can also opt for a vegetarian version of the meal.

This popular neighbourhood restaurant promises an intimate and luxurious New year's eve celebration. During the evening they'll be serving a new year's eve dinner including steak tartare, seafood escabeche, fillet of venison and crêpes Suzette. 

Celebrate new year Spanish style at Boqueria with a new year's menu that starts off with cheese, charcuterie and tapas. After that there'll be a meat, fish or vegetarian dish, before dessert is served. The meal is served inside the dining room and out in the galleria dining area.

They invite you to a five-course New Year's dinner which includes, among other things, skagenröra with löjrom, lobster soup, beef medallions or cod loin, as well as crème brûlée. The New Year's celebrations at Trattoria on Norr Mälarstrand promise to be warm, lively, colourful and joyful. An Italian gastronomic adventure awaits, with a New Year's menu consisting of burrata, turbot or entrecote and tiramisu, as well as a wine package with selected wines from Italy.
