This wine bar in Katarinakvarteren is a safe bet for all wine lovers. If you're particularly keen on natural wines, you'll be happy as a clam here, because they serve a wide selection of bottles. Wine importers Wine Trade run the bar which focuses on artisanal wines and yes, they serve food too.

This intimate boutique hotel in Södermalm has a hip wine bar and restaurant, NOFO Wine bar, which serves carefully selected drinks and seasonal medium-sized dishes with global culinary influences. At Dryck winebar on Mariatorget the emphasis is on sustainably produced wines; you can sip on a glass of organic or biodynamic wine and pair your drink with something to eat. The bar is run by food and wine enthusiast Caroline Tallving, who previously ran an organic food store on the same premises and, with Dryck, has created an inviting meeting place for novices and wine enthusiasts alike.

This wine bar in Hornstull is run by the same team as the Mexican restaurant Chelas opposite. The emphasis is on on Latin American wines but they also serve the odd cocktail. The small menu includes exciting small dishes that pair well with drinks.

On the corner of Ringvägen and Katarina Bangata you'll find this intimate little oasis for foodies and wine buffs who want to share small dishes and drink wines with exciting labels. The owners are passionate about natural wines and they occasionally invite producers in to uncork their favourite bottles.

This ambitious wine bar has its roots in Europe and serves wines that are "honest". Combine with a few pintxos in the afternoon or evening, and don't miss enjoying a glass of wine al fresco on Greta Garbos Torg when the sun's shining.

This warm, welcoming wine and food bar is housed in rustic premises on the part of Birger Jarlsgatan that belongs to Vasastan. At E&G, European wines, particularly German ones, are the order of the day, carefully selected by the place's owners Egon and Gösen (whose initials gave the bar its name). A dynamic menu based on organic ingredients is served alongside the drinks.

Attached to the romantic Italian Capannone is an equally romantic wine bar, located at street level while the restaurant is situated one floor down. Enjoy fine wines, many selected thanks to the proprietor's long collaboration with various skilled winemakers. Dishes are served alongside from a menu that changes with the seasons, sometimes as often as from day to day, depending on which ingredients are at their best right now.

A laid-back little wine bar next to Odenplan run by the people behind PA & Co and Bistro Süd. There's a huge range of wines to choose from, along with a selection of small and larger dishes, and it's a popular spot among oenophiles and novices alike.

Grus Grus wine bar is part of Tranan restaurant and the emphasis here is on artisan wines made by hand with respect for nature. Choose whether you want to try a more obscure wine or something classic. They also serve seasonal food to match the wines.

If you want to try something new, get down to Tomtebogatan and the super-niche wine bar Ambar. Amalia is a wine bar and neighbourhood bistro brimming with imagination. Passionate wine bar on Kungsholmstorg with an online wine wine store. Their selection consists solely of wines which the owners handpick from producers they've visited themselves and they serve dishes that complement the wines perfectly. They also organise regular wine tastings.

Blanche & Hierta, within luxurious design hotel At Six on Brunkebergstorg, has one of Stockholm's most exclusive wine lists. Wines from some of world's premier wine producers and countries are served, including bottles you won't find anywhere else in Stockholm.

At Vinfolket's branch on Kungsholmen, you can drink handpicked wines and order something from the menu, which offers both small snacks and larger dishes.

At Östergök's old address, Uva is a Scandinavian-designed wine bar where the Old World meets elements from the USA. They've created a true oasis for all wine enthusiasts eager for a good glass of wine. If you get hungry, you can also order snacks from sister restaurants Aristo and Cuculo next door.

Hotel Kung Carl's wine bar, in the hotel courtyard, is the perfect spot to meet up or wind down with a glass of wine in peaceful surroundings. The focus is on French wines that pair well with shellfish and they also serve bubbles from the Perrier-Jouët champagne house.

E&G's cosy sister bistro on Sibyllegatan shares the same interest in wine, particularly wine from Germany. Drop in from lunch to dinner and grab a bite to eat or a glass of wine and some oysters from the deli counter. A relaxed alternative with a Continental atmosphere.

They may call themselves a wine café rather than a wine bar, but the foundation is the same: a passion for good wine. The main focus here is on wines from small producers who work as close to nature as possible, often slightly more unusual wines from underrepresented areas and sometimes even grapes you barely knew existed. If you get hungry, there are sharing dishes and snacks to choose from.

Spanjorskan isn't just a classy neighbourhood restaurant - they also stock one of Stockholm's largest selections of Spanish wines. In addition to traditional labels and handpicked favourites, the wine list features regular guest appearances by unusual wines from smaller producers, selected by Spanjorskan's sommelier. Combine with a few pintxos and the sunny Spanish coast has never felt closer.

Choose Grodan for its bustling atmosphere, heavily frequented by regulars, cocktail-sipping revellers and oenophiles. This distinguished restaurant has been around for over 30 years and its wine bar is always safe bet for a sophisticated rendezvous. Despite its size, the space feels intimate and familiar. There are around 400 wines to choose from, and the premises can be hired for various kinds of events. 

Downstairs from the meat restaurant Sovel on Mälartorget, you'll find the wine bar Vingrottan. Drink handpicked wines in a delightfully dimly-lit surroundings with dark leather furniture, red walls, chequered floors, and subdued lighting. Food perfect for wine pairing such as cheese, charcuterie, and other small dishes is served alongside the drinks.

"Wine for the people" - that's the motto at this wine bar, inside the entrance to Leijontornet restaurant. Every day, they serve around a hundred labels by the glass, which can be matched with wine-friendly food from the restaurant's menu. Curious wine drinkers can enjoy a real deep dive into the wine list together with the sommelier. Drop-in only applies, so just slip in and settle in at the bar or at the large decanting table.

Cork is passionate about Portuguese wines, and has an extensive selection of both unusual and slightly more recognisable varieties on its wine list, both by the glass and by the bottle. In terms of food, various Mediterranean dishes and snacks are served, and the place is particularly well-known for its risotto.

Stockholm's most secretive, and possibly most difficult to pronounce, wine bar can be found on Stora Nygatan in Gamla stan. At Kouthoofd Familie Winkel, you can listen to great music on the record player, enjoy snacks and small plates, and raise a glass of wine in various shades. The small restaurant is run by Jesper Kouthoofd, who also founded Acne Studios.

Bar Montan in the Slakthushusområdet (meatpacking district) is run by the coffee roasters from Stockholm Roast in the same area. The team at this food bar are passionate about wine, which they like to serve with tasty snacks and small dishes. Apart from a few bookable spots, drop-in is the order the day, perfect for spontaneous hang outs. 

If you want to try several different wines without getting too tipsy, head to Sundbybergs wine bar. They serve a wide range of wines by the half glass -  full glasses and bottles as well, of course, for anyone who has already found their favourite wine. Drinks are best combined with some cheese, charcuterie or small dishes with an emphasis on marine delicacies.

How many supermarkets have their own wine bar? The wine bar in Ica Kvantum in Liljeholmstorgets Galleria shopping centre is as unexpected as it is popular. They even serve snacks to go with their wines by the glass - the bar is right next to the deli counter.
