Review of Miss Voon – by Charlotte A.

Miss Voon

Walked by here last Friday with a friend by a pure coincidence and got to see that they had AW, we were on the go but had some time to spare for a mouthful. 120kr for three lobster tacos and a Kirin Ichban, in the deadly mouth a bright layer with hints of apricot and tart Mandarin. Both perfect and nice, we thought. And this review will therefore only relate to this and not the restaurant in its entirety as I want to return here to have a proper dinner and not sit placed under a thumping speaker in the bar before I give a complete statement.

The lobster tacos have been rumored ever since I moved here and have therefore long wanted to try. It's a bit excited for success as I both love the concept of tacos, Asian fusion and lobster. But you know, I was and i'm not at all impressed!

Firstly, they were really small, well maybe it should be so, but I would have liked to have had them a little bigger (from other people's pictures judging, they have been experienced much larger). There was also a salad leaf on the bottom that contributed to the fact that there was a lot of air left in the shell. Which in turn caused the mess to fall out when trying to eat as it had not run down properly.

Secondly, the mess was far too strong, you could imagine that there were lobsters in but it got too hot. It would have taken some sweeter majonäs, syrup or the like to balance up the flavors. It was exciting with the shisokrass they had on top that certainly contributed to a little sweetness, but no. And the glue on the side wasn't much to play with either. Have I even eaten the same lobster tacos that everyone talked so well about? I wonder and will probably keep wondering until I go there and order it on to the regular dinner menu. But to not only give lots of rice but a rose, the set-up was very nice, professional and appetizing.

But to another FUNNY news. I found a beer I like. I've (tasted many) but just bought my own beer all my life, it took about 90 minutes to drink it up and thought from this day that it's never going to happen again. Now this beer was included in the offer and I thought they certainly had a good reason why it was combined with the tacos. Maybe I was also fooled here. But... it was really good. Didn't taste at all too much beer, but more healthy, fruity and tart. And then just a small yeast taste sneaked into the flavor. Can absolutely imagine buying with me home in the future!
