Good tapas, Nice staff, cosy room. It does not need so much more than that. Perfect for an AW or spontankväll. Simple and unpretentious, here are all welcome.
The entrance to the restaurant doesn't look like much to the eye but when you go down the stairs and enters the old venerable mountain vaults so it feels like it teleports back to the 1600 's (but with a modern twist). Tapasrätterna is good and very affordable. Another big plus is that you can order many different wines by the glass.

A cozy place that waft character, central location at Slussen. Good and affordable tapas, enthusiastic staff. Perfect for a date or a soft hang after work.
The service was nice and cordial. The old stone arches offer a special and cosy atmosphere.
But in the Wine Vault, we see none of the care about the food that is so characteristic of pintxos bars in San Sebastian. Where is struck by the pride and passion that the Basque kitchen conveys in any small titbit served. Wine Vault food feels unengaged and tired. The bacon wrapped tiger prawns on skewers for $ 110 was ok, but the duck breast with mango and PEAR in sweet and sour sauce has been left to their own devices far too long in the oven. Now we received a sad överstekt and dry dish who testified about a too low level of ambition in the kitchen. In addition, the completely tasteless because no one had come up with the idea to spice it before it was served. Terrier, frankly. The other small dishes we ordered were pretty much the same level; the best was at best ok, but also bond bread with garlic was greasy and messy and not so fun. Cheesecaken for dessert was also a disappointment, texture and flavor was pretty far from how a cheesecake to taste.
The pleasant service who did his best to give us a pleasant evening was working uphill when the food was not good. Regardless of the prices that are on the menu, it could never be affordable for as long as the kitchen does not supply. Wine Vault is not something we feel we want to return to.
