After many attempts, we finally visited Bar Libertin. Date night on a payday Friday, so the room was absolutely full. We got a really cozy corner table where I looked out over the whole restaurant, perfect in my opinion.
The room is small and cozy with a cozy bar counter where guests can eat and drink wine.
We ordered three snacks and two appetizers. The absolute best was the boquerons with jalapenomajo on bread. Absolutely perfectly balanced dish. The waitress said it was the only dish they haven't replaced since the start and I understand why. The second snack was seed crackers with chicken liver, pears and fefferoni - unexpectedly perfect combo. Fefferoni and pears are definitely something I will embrace.
Medium courses were a steak tartare and a ceviche which were both good and well-cooked, but the favorites were definitely the snacks. To this we drank wine and beer.
We were pretty much forgotten at the end, which unfortunately lowers my grade. We sat with empty glasses and plates and lost the craving for dessert, which was a shame because we told our waiter that we didn't want to order too much food as we really wanted to try some dessert. Once we got service, we were a bit pushed and paid and left. The visit was 5/5 until the last bit, so on the whole I'm happy with my visit.
