At lovely Mariatorget on Södermalm is this small murky and cozy café! There are some chairs and tables out on the sidewalk for those who like to sit in the fresh air. There are good opportunities to look at the people who move in and out of the shops and cafés nearby, and look at those sunbathing, cuddling and playing in the park at Mariatorget.
If you want to go to jail, you might as well. It's a bit dark, murky and feels a bit old and classic. Maybe it would have been nice to have a little up-piffning but on the whole it is a nice local. You can sit in the room directly inside the door, or go to the back room if you want to sit further away from the counter and checkout.
There's plenty to choose from here. A simple lunch or a lovely coffee break. We each had a salad. I ordered one with shrimp and my company a salad with chevré. It was in the big nice salads. No sensations but really quite okay for a lunch. Generous with shrimp and cheese and a lot of dressing, which is always important!
There was no coffee this time but I will gladly go back and choose something sweet from the dishes. There was plenty to choose from! Maybe even buy with me a piece of cake?
Nice place that you can definitely visit if you are here hungry or have sweet cravings.
