A taste of the Viking age in the Old Town
Singer Martin Eriksson, better known as E-type, really made the most of Stockholm's rich Viking heritage when creating Aifur. This rustic restaurant with its authentic Viking interiors, food, drinks and atmosphere gives guests a unique experience. It's not often you find a restaurant this distinctive, so if you're looking for something completely different, Aifur is well worth a visit.

Seriously good sandwiches
Among the team behind Sandhäxan, which is a direct translation of "sand witch", is well-known Swedish actor Erik Jerka Johansson. Come by for lunch, to enjoy a beer or buy something to take home from the deli counter. As you might expect, Sandhäxan's focus is on really tasty sandwiches, inspired by New Orleans. They also serve coffee, beer, wine, cheese and charcuterie. In summer 2022 they open up Strandhäxan - a summer restaurant next to Djurgårdsbron.

Rocking in historic rooms
At musician Martin 'E-type' Eriksson's bar and restaurant in the Old Town, there's a homely atmosphere, rock music, and a great selection of drinks – all in historic surroundings. As well as cold beer and cocktails, Mammut Bar serves up simple but well-cooked meals. The speakers blast tunes from bands like Saxon, Hammerfall, and Ramones.

Musical family with a passion for food
The Ingrosso family aren't just good at music - they also run several restaurants in Stockholm. Swedish House Mafia member Sebastian Ingrosso is behind the healthfood restaurant Kale & Crave together with Serhan Stojanov, Alessandro Lindblad and Viktor Hodell. La Perla, which also has a branch on Majorca, is run by "pappa" Ingrosso, Emilio, and his wife Åsa. Un Poco is also linked to this clan - Emilio's brother, uncle of Benjamin and Bianca Ingrosso, along with Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell, run the show.

Part-owned by football star
Swedish football star Jesper Blomqvist, who played for Milan and Parma, had been looking for a food and drink project to get involved in for a while when 450 Gradi appeared. His passion for Italian food grew during his time playing professionally in Italy and lead to him becoming a part-owner in this popular pizza restaurant. Many Stockholmers regard their pizzas as the best in town and are prepared to make a trip out to Lidingö to enjoy authentic Neapolitan pizzas.

Hollywood glamour
The actor duo Joel Kinnaman and Mahmut Suvakci have more in common than just their roles in the film version of Snabba Cash (Easy Money) - they're also the guys behind the popular fastfood chain Lily's Burger. Their first burger joint opened in Kungsholmen and there's now a sister restaurant in Södermalm. American diner vibes are the order of the day, both decor and food-wise, and as well as burgers you'll also find thick milkshakes and chicken nuggets on the menu.

Jury member on Masterchef
Markus Aujalay has been an established and respected chef for a long time, but after being on the Masterchef jury for many years he's now something of a TV celebrity too. Tegelbacken is in Sekoen's former premises and serves European small dishes. There's also a wine and cocktail bar and a pink lounge with drop-in spots.

Another Masterchef jury member
Star chef Tom Sjöstedt replaced Leif Mannerström as a jury member on Masterchef and now judges competitors alongside Mischa Billing and Markus Aujalay. This may have made him more famous among the public but his restaurant Lilla Ego has been an extremely popular and hard-to-get-into Stockholm spot for years. Top-quality food is served in relaxed, rustic and homely surroundings.
