The rudest treatment I think I has ever received. The person responsible for it was the woman running the cafe/restaurant Fredriksborg. In my opinion, her behavior reminded me of an episode, it was that strange. And persistent. If you can't behave even remotely professionally and refrain from making guests who asks one (!) innocent question about whether it's possible to order cafe food and not just restaurant food (I was alone, I just wanted to have a coffee with something) without the meeting this question with the most ridiculous, weird and unpolite ways of NOT responding, acting like the guest is crazy for asking, answering in the strangest ways possible, strange glances, starting to babbelng about that there are signs outside (which she then discovered she had forgot to place there), etc; then you shouldn no be in the service profession. No paying guest ever (!) is interested in being treated as if you were the weirdest in the world for asking a very simple question. I'm not setting foot there again, so it can only be stated that the weird person running the establishment, who is actually allowed to lease the place from the municipality, has turned this nature place of cultural value that the municipality obviously intended to be used by people, into a place which can't be visited again, through a sickly rude manner. (And others as it seems on for ex. Trip advisor feel the same way.) The municipality should take that into account at the next negotiation about continued lease. With leasing this kind of place comes a responsibility to not make it inhabitable for other ppl - ppl who are the actual owners, indirectly. This place should not have been made impossible to visit by the arrogant and oh so weird behavior of a cafe owner who does not own the place. Who visits again where you have been directly, undeservedly, struck by the most bizarre rudeness like a bolt from the blue? I still wonder what I did to deserve the treatment. I am dark-haired (not dark-skinned. My mother's family can be easily traced back to the Viking Age in Sweden and I am related to the old Stures, Vasas and all of these families but my father's comes from Central Europe. ) I have been bodily sick for over ten years so maybe it's not my best appearance right now but... many people my age can look even worse :) I didn't have a husband with me. It might be easier to treat an alone middle-aged woman like that. I was there to check if I should hire the place for an evening but for obvious reasons that's not of interest anymore. Regarding the food: The menu wouldn't give anyone a Michelin star. The interior wouldn't win any awards either. But the view is fantastic. However, that is not thanks to any unbalanced cafe owner. As mentioned, I won't set foot there again. She can take her strange ways and food and shove it somewhere. Nej, FY FAN! (swedish...) AVOID if you dont want a really weird encounter with someone who seems to have been brought up in a room without furnitures.

What an experience this was! If you fancy an excursion by car or boat, this is a must! I invited my in-laws hit a late summer, we went here by boat and the first to face when to add is the magnificent fortress at the height. Once up in the restaurant, we were seated in a cozy furnished Green House and look out over the sea. Wonderful! Everything on the menu is from nearby farms and some things they grow themselves, which of course results in amazing delicious food. After dinner we went up to the fortress where they had a really cool and original art exhibition with cool lighting.
They also have a nice quaint hotel that I would gladly spend a night or two in the perfect environment to hide away in with his sweetheart.

Wow I just say. Frederiksborg is one of the most authentic places to be found around Stockholm. Myself, I took my parents here by boat, which of course was a success. It was just dinner over the evening, but I would like to think of spending a night in one of the few hotel rooms. The restaurant serves delicious food in which almost everything is created from scratch, and if not then purchased from nearby suppliers. If you ever want to offer friends who are visiting from another country, this is a must see.

Really nice hotel in a romantic country house-stuk located right next to the water. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Why they do not receive a higher rating is because the food wasn't like that. However, a very nice overall impression.
