When you look at the website and the pictures, it looks a bit like it will arrive in bygone times, a bit old-fashioned. But the new owner has really given the place a boost. More modern, recently renovated rooms, but still with some sense of location in the archipelago and with respect for the old beautiful building.
We lived in a room with a balcony facing the water which in every way was absolutely fantastic. We were lucky enough to have nice weather all evenings and there is really something special about sitting outside at dusk, drinking a glass of wine and looking out over the sea and the archipelago boats that come and go. It's like a summer dream, an Astrid Lindgren fairy tale. Something nostalgically Swedish and magical about it all.
The staff is amazing. Breakfast super and we ate both in the dining room and Kabyssen and it's great food in both places. It is easy to believe that Waxholm is just a destination for the summer. But I've been here both early spring, and during the summer and I think it's probably just as cozy, but in different ways, all year round.

Har ätit fantastiskt julbord där flera år, enda minus kan vara att det i bland varit lite svalt men jag är frusen av mig. Otroligt mysigt med en oslagbar utsikt! Hoppas någon tar över och för traditionen vidare 🍽🌟🎄🎆
