Jag har varit här två gånger - en gång på brunch buffé och en gång på julbord.

På brunchen tog en del grejer slut - så som pannkakorna vilket var en stor del av skälet till att vi valde just brunchen.

På julbordet var desserterna inte riktigt passande för att stå ute så länge som de gjorde. Allt hade smällt och runnit ut och det är inte speciellt trevligt. Went there in the evening to try the “à la carte” menu. I’m hesitating between 2 and 3 stars because I think the service was really nice and attentive. If it were for the service alone, I would give Chouchou at least 4 stars.

Now what about the food? I am not a vegan but I love good vegan food. As in food that was designed to be vegan to start with, as opposed to vegan versions of meat or fish dishes. That was not it. For that reason I am very unlikely to ever go back and that’s why I can only give it 2 stars.
I understand that the concept is to make “fake” food. And in that context I suppose you may appreciate the effort as in “this is not that bad for fake meat/pulled pork/ salmon/cheese/lamb”.
But to my taste it wasn’t “not that bad”; it was just not good. We shared some dishes as so we got to try quite a few different ones. The pulled pork baos had a filling that was way too sour. We couldn’t finish it. The hummus (what’s wrong with just plain hummus? That’s vegan right?) was sprinkled with fake lamb. So strange. I had the pesto pasta thinking it was the least risky but the amount of raw garlic in there was terrifying. There is such a thing as too much raw garlic. My friends could not finish the truffle pizza or the “lionsmane” (some locally sourced mushroom?) with papaya salad.
So here you go: if you are vegan and looking for a place that goes out of its way for you, then that’s probably it. But if you are not then you know: there is better food elsewhere.
